Beatrice 'Bea' Arthur (born Bernice Frankel in New York City, New York on May 13, 1922) is an American comedienne, actress and singer best known for her TV sitcom roles as the title character, Maude Findlay, on Maude and as Dorothy Zbornak on The Golden Girls.
