B2K was an American R&B music group, founded and managed by music producer Chris Stokes in 2001 and active until 2004. B2K: BiographyEpic Records did their search well before unleashing B2K into the pop market. The black boy band of clean cut young men is everything a marketing department dreams about and attractive teens becoming men who make the girls melt with a little bit of a rugged, tough guy attitude and flashy clothes. The dance beats that are as much dance-pop as hip-hop assisted the band's rise to popularity, as well as their singing talent. In 2001, B2K released their first single "Uh Huh" from their self-titled debut album. They were also in a scene in IMx's video, "Beautiful". In 2002, they released their first LP, B2K. B2K released three singles - "Uh Huh", "Gots Ta Be", and "Why I Love You". Their second and final regular studio album, Pandemonium!, was released in December of the same year, and garnered the US #1 hit single "Bump, Bump, Bump". The group featured regularly on the covers of teen magazines such as Right On! and Word Up. They also released a Christmas album in-between their regular two albums, entitled Santa Hooked Me Up. In 2003, they released four more singles "Girlfriend", "Bump That", "Everything" and "What A Girl Wants". In addition to that, they were featured on the soundtrack album for Barbershop. They headlined The Scream Tour, along with Marques Houston, Jhene, Mario and Nick Cannon, who were also performing. B2K also released the single "Badaboom" (Ft. Fabolous) from their movie, You Got Served. B2K - Members

Several songs by the group were featured on the film's soundtrack album. B2K - Break-upIn January 2004, Chris Stokes announced that the group had broken up. Three of the members claimed financial mishandling by Stokes' management company, T.U.G. (The Ultimate Group). Omarion and Chris Stokes claimed the allegations were untrue. Lil Fizz was featured in Omarion's "Entourage" video. Leading up to his official unveiling as a soloist, Raz released his first debut single, "Fire" in May of 2007. "Fire" officially debuted on the Billboard charts (the week of 5/12/07) on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales charts debuting at #2 and also hitting the Billboard Hot Singles Sales charts at #11. At the time there was no promotion behind the single as it debuted. On November 9, 2007, videos of their new reality show featuring most of the group surfaced onto YouTube. In the videos, the group members discuss various topics such as their legal rights to still use the group's name 'B2K' and former band member Omarion. It shows the band thinking about and possibly trying to get back together minus Omarion. There is a possible reunion in the future but none of the B2K team has commented. In a recent webisode, J-Boog and Lil Fizz are seen confronting Raz-B about the molestation allegations that were made about Chris Stokes, the group's former manager. A song titled "Body Up" has been leaked; Raz-B leads this B2K 2008 song. Omarion is the only former B2K member that did not take part in the groups return. |
