Jamie Lynn Marie Spears (born April 4, 1991) is an American actress and singer, and the younger sister of pop star Britney Spears. She is best known for starring in the Nickelodeon television series Zoey 101, And for numerous other appearances on TV, Mainly on the Nickelodeon TV channel.

She attended school at Parklane Academy in McComb, where she was a cheerleader and was involved in other sports. She finished her education there via online correspondence and received her GED in February, 2008. Jamie Lynn also has a daughter, Maddie Briann who was born June 19, 2008. Jamie is still living with Casey. Jamie, Casey and Maddie currently reside in Liberty, Mississippi. Jamie Lynn's fiance, Casey Aldridge was injured in a car accident in the early hours of Sunday, April 26, 2009. He was charged with careless driving.

On December 20, 2007, in an interview with OK Magazine, Jamie Lynn Spears announced that she was pregnant. Nickelodeon, the network that carries Spears's series Zoey 101, issued a statement shortly after the announcement:

The announcement of Spears's pregnancy shocked most of her fans and generated controversy, as the media was accused of using the story to "glamorize" teenage pregnancy. While there have been reports that Zoey 101 has been cancelled, because of Jamie's pregnancy, a spokesperson for Nickelodeon told MTV News that there was no truth to those rumors and the show remained on their schedule.

Jamie has stated that the father of her daughter was Casey Aldridge, then 18, her longtime boyfriend. Because Spears was two years below the Californian age of consent, questions came up regarding their age difference, and whether Aldridge could or would be charged with statutory rape (although Spears was neither from California nor living there). The Department of Motor Vehicles of Mississippi subsequently confirmed Aldridge's age of just less than two years older than Spears, which meant that at most he could only be charged with a misdemeanor under California law, which has an exception for adults less than three years older than the minor. There has also been legal discussion on the legality of the breast-feeding photos released picturing Jamie Lynn Spears.

Reports surfaced in mid-April that Spears and Aldridge were house-hunting within her home state of Louisiana.
