2009-08-14 - I remember when I first heard "Kyrptonite" on the radio and how eager I was to get the debut release from a no name group called 3 Doors Down. Since then I have eagerly awaited their sophmore release and now "Away From The Sun" is finally here. What the hell happened?! The great origional sound that I heard the first time around just got up and left. After hearing the entire album I am sad to say I am extremly dissapointed. The songs are all bland and tastless, in fact it's nothing but mainstreem rock or as I prefer to call it... ! I would advise a true fan of this group to count your blessings and listen to "The Better Life", which is infact the better record. I gave this album one star because "Away From The Sun" only has one decent track "When I'm Gone". Unless 3 Doors Down goes back to the way they were, I am gone!
Again, a very interesting turn of events since I wrote this review. Since this release all those years ago I have never purchased another 3 Doors Down record. To sweeten how accurate my review was I sold my 'Better Life' album. I'm telling you...it feels so good to be right sometimes.

2009-06-04 - Nothing against the band or the fans who love this band... But I found the album to be a bit "country" for my tastes. Don't buy this CD expecting 'Linkin Park' or 'Red' because it's not anything like that... Maybe a bit more 'Rascal Flats' meets 'Nickelback.'
Decent quality and good lyrics! Just not my 'thing.' : )

2009-04-27 - The I recieved was in good shape. The Cd was not damaged. the case had one crack but all in all I was vert pleased and have been using it and have also downloaded to my MP3 player...

2008-11-23 - I'm glad I started out with Three Doors Down with this CD, I'm a fan forever. I originally bought it because I had heard "Here Without You" on the radio, but there's so many great songs on here, I listen to it often--it's downloaded on my I-Pod also.

2008-08-16 - I think that 3 Doors Down has to be one of the best Rock bands in recent years. They did the impossible with this album, made it better than the original. If you are a fan of 3 Doors Down and the album "The Better Life", then you will love this. "Away From the Sun" is the perfect album. Any song on this record are good enough to be a single. I don't dance, but man did I feel like dancing while listening to this! I couldn't help but move when I listen. If you are a fan, you will think this album rocks! And you will be correct.
