Editorial Review:
For the explosive Before I Self Destruct album, 50 Cent returned to working closely with DR. DRE and EMINEM as he did on Get Rich Or Die Tryin', his first official album. With DR. DRE and EMINEM producing and guesting, Before I Self Destruct is darker and harder than 2007's Curtis, as shown by the grimy single and video to "OK, You're Right" (produced by DR. DRE), which was released earlier this year. In early September, 50 released the hit single "Baby By Me" produced by POLOW DA DON (FERGIE, T.I., LUDACRIS). Before I Self Destruct continues 50 Cent's phenomenal rise from street culture hero to pop culture icon. Both album and film will be released on Shady/Aftermath on November 16, 2009.
Before I Self Destruct Reviews:
More of the same
2009-11-30 - I don't understand the good reviews this CD is getting. This album is EXACTLY the same as his other 3 CD's. It has some "gangster" songs on there with tough talk, then about 5 pop songs for women. I guess people are saying this is a good album because it has less girl songs on it then the other ones or something?
I really didn't like this album. It had a couple of good beats such as the beat on "The Invitation" or the RZA styled beat on "Strong Enough" but the rest of the album isn't too great.
50 Cent gives us another recycled album. No concepts, just tough talk and club songs. Yet another album that gets a 0/10 from me. If you want to listen to some good music by 50 Cent I would recommend you downloading his unreleased album, "The Power of a Dollar". To this date, that is the only decent thing he has put out worth listening to.
Great buy, better album.
2009-11-29 - If you're a 50cent fan then this album is a no brainier. There were alot of great tracks on this cd and you can hear 50cent's different frame of mind. As we all know he's life has changed so he's music has followed that. To all the people who said this album isn't good or 50cent isn't the same. Then you are mistaken! You must not like he's music at all then? And you never heard any of he's mixed tapes that he's been putting out for years... If you are new to 50cent's work please pick up he's first album get rich, then work your way over to the massacre, then pick this bad boy up.
Granted I wasn't that big of a fan of Curtis but hey he's made alot of other stuff in-between to make up for it (mix-tapes). Overall if you like hip-hop and you liked any of 50cent's music then this is worth getting. I'm a Game fan as well as 50's and good music is good music I would recommend this album to anyone.
Best since his first debut album but nothing amazing!
2009-11-29 - Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent attempts to make a comeback with this latest album Before I Self Destruct but falls short once again. After leaking songs on the internet and with the album being pushed back several times you would expect a really good album but its not.Although this album is the best one since Get Rich Die Tryin its still lacking alot of things.Alot of artists when they debut with an album always sell well most of the time and alot can maintain selling many and some start to slip away much like 50 cent. How old is the beef with The Game?..Its old let me say and he is still taking shots at him and other people but its hurting his career and soon his tax bracket.Yes when he came out with that how to rob song before his debut album he was taking shots at everyone it worked and worked for his first album but people arent buying it anymore. Its old like yesterdays news!!!
Hot Album
2009-11-29 - This is a solid release. In my opinion it's better than blueprint 3 by far. Well worth the money.
Love the cover
2009-11-29 - because I can picture 50 cent have his face melted off and dying. Someone kill this loser please!
