Editorial Review:
Huge Teen Group from Sweden's Smash Debut Full Length of Abba Covers.

Description of The ABBA Generation:
Does the world really need the glorious pop gems of Abba to be slavishly rerecorded by a bunch of Swedish teenagers? The answer in this case is no. The A*Teens alter the near-perfect disco anthems with only hints of more modern, high-tech tweaks. By staying true to the tunes, the A*Teens are really just a tribute band, lacking in any imagination, irony, or insight into how to introduce such songs as "Mamma Mia" and "Dancing Queen" to the next generation. Those familiar with Bjorn, Agnetha, Frida, and Benny, after all, are probably already familiar with Gold, which showcases most of these tracks and renders The Abba Generation redundant. And those who can't stomach the sugar-coated sprightliness of "Take a Chance on Me" wouldn't touch this tribute with an old platform shoe, anyway. Skip the substitutes and go for the original. --Heidi Sherman

The ABBA Generation Reviews:
Only in the 90's 1 Star Review
2008-10-21 - Now this is what you should avoid! ABBA songs regeared yet again for the mainstream to make more money. ABBA did enough damage in the 70's. Go for Mamma Mia!, either the new movie or the original broadway version.

-/10

Fresh interpretation of the classics. 5 Star Review
2007-12-19 - The Amazon reviewer - "Does the world really need the glorious pop gems of Abba to be slavishly rerecorded by a bunch of Swedish teenagers? The answer in this case is no.", is just wrong. The answer is yes! Obviously, self important music critics are going to sneer. I'm sure they'd rather listen to Bob Dylan bootlegs or whatever. Not me.

I love ABBA and I love the A Teens' covers too. They are just a little poppier and a little more digital. They capture the spirit of the music well.

I listen to this all the time and my favorites are probably The Name of the Game and SOS.

Unplayable CD due to copy protection 1 Star Review
2007-07-26 - I bought this CD to play on my computer at work. However, it has a copy protection software on it that Universal Music created back in the 1990s, and it crashes when you try to use it on a modern computer. The only way to "open" the CD is to let it install a piece of software on your computer called "Universal Media Player". That software is supposed to make the music tracks on the CD available to you. But when you try to start the music, the software crashes. Universal Music probably thought they were so brilliant back in 1999, but instead they've created worthless CDs. Oops!

A-Teens 4 Star Review
