  • Editorial Review:
After years of slumber, the legendary vampire has awakened and found acceptance in a tattooed, pierced and black-clad world. He's a rock star. And his awesome punk-chic sound has echoed around the globe...and stirred to life the fearsome Mother of All Vampires. Based on "The Vampire Chronicles" by Anne Rice, whose work previously came to the screen in "Interview with the Vampire."

    Movie 5 Star Review
2009-10-06 - This movie was excellent. It wasnt scratched or messed up at all. I would order from the person I bought it from again

    Excellent Adaptation 5 Star Review
2009-09-12 - The movie Queen of the Damned is an excellent adaptation of several of the Vampire Chronicles stories interweaved as one. I thought that Stuart Townsend did a great job as Lestat as well as Vincent Perez as a very believeable and likeable Marius. As an Anne Rice fan i was very content with this adaptation. Word on the streets is that Universal is going to make another series of Anne's books into films starting with The Vampire Chronicles which will be starring Robert Downey Jr. as Lestat. I can't wait. Until then, enjoy Queen of the Damned.

    Vampire Junkie!!! 5 Star Review
2009-05-20 - Loved this movie!!!! Aaliyah did great in her role as Akasha, and the movie was entertaining. Great Soundtrack as well!!

Movie of the Damned 2 Star Review
2009-05-17 - This movie so little resembled the book that it almost wasn't funny. There's no real reason given for Akasha's sudden thirst for world domination, the origins of vampirekind, the Royal Pair, and the Twins are never talked about, leaving us a movie with no real explanation as to why things happened the way they did. Maharet was a flat and disappointing character, and there is no Mekare in the film, which is rather disappointing as she was probably the one who triggered the creation of vampirekind in the book (and one of the most important characters, then)

An extra half hour-45 minutes should have been tacked to the film to explain this backstory. Without it, this movie was just an empty tale with no real reason or meaning. The actors weren't terrible, I enjoyed Aaliyah and Stuart Townsend in their roles, but the movie itself had no real plot and was pointless to watch for anyone who enjoyed the book, and even those who didn't, because even without knowing the origins tale, this movie still comes across as having no real meaning.
