Editorial Review:
Soon to bust out of middle school, Aaron Carter chirpily boasts "I'm all grown up now" and implores "Come and show me body." Despite that, this star among the Nickelodeon set is still more Fresh Prince than Prince; Oh Aaron will give skittish parents little to worry about. (This would-be mack still lives with his folks, after all.) Further looking to demonstrate his maturity, Carter's handlers also supply him with "The Kid in You," a brand-name-laden pledge that he'll never forget how to have fun, even while raising his own family 'n' stuff. That lesson is supplemented by the title track, which finds Aaron promising too many friends tickets to see brother Nick with the Backstreet Boys. All's well that ends well, though, with Aaron winding up as the opening act and Nick guesting here. Note: the bonus track is simply an ad for an Aaron Carter video/DVD collection. --Rickey Wright
Oh Aaron Reviews:
Aaron Carter - Oh Aaron - Cool CD!
2009-06-09 - Hello I'm an autistic adult.
I bought this cd a couple of years ago when I was a teenager. I still listen to it every now then now a days.
My favorite song's are:
2. Not too Young not too old
7. I'm all about you
9. Hey you
10. Cowgirl
Over all this is good cd the only real reason why I don't listen to it to much now a days is because the cd skips. But over all it is a good cd. With a lot of great music.
Buy it you'll enjoy Aaron Carter he's a good singer.
OH AARON (JIVE RECORDS/2001)
2008-11-03 - REVIEW: Despite teeny-bopper raves and critical loathes: there is no denying that Aaron Carter's second full-fledged release is an infectious, slickly produced pop/dance record. If that means he comes off sounding like a (slightly) more funkier version of Little Donny Osmond: well...that goes without saying. His singing is decent enough, and he does rap quite confidently (and with tongue-in-cheek) for his age. "Oh Aaron" is cute without being annoying (wish I could say the same for the execrable "Cowgirl" and its goofy "lil' mama" refrain), "Stride" has a neat slide guitar riff, "Come Follow Me" rocks out a bit, and the dance numbers "Not Too Young, Not Too Old", "Baby It's You", "I Would", and "Hey You" are pretty good (even the ballad "I'm All About You" is fairly well done). But there is a nagging problem of sexual innuendo that creeps into the lyrics a few times (especially on "Not Too Young, Not Too Old" and "Baby It's You"). Such talk about "gettin' down" and "I'll take you to heaven" are a bit icky coming from a thirteen-year-old (Little Donny Osmond had the same problem when he covered "Wake Up Little Susie" on one of his old LP's). But aside from all those quibbles: it's nice to hear a young teen rapping about basketball, BMX biking, skateboards, and his Sony Playstation instead of drug deals, drive-bys, b**ches, and ho's. On that basis "OH AARON" succeeds fairly well as a charming, light-as-fluff dance record for the (young) teen set. HARSH LANGUAGE: none. VIOLENCE: ah...no. SEXUAL REFERENCES: about 3 or 4 slightly too "knowing" remarks that should make parents raise their eyebrows a bit and groan. DRUG REFERENCES: none.
HIGHEST BILLBOARD ALBUM CHART POSITION: None
HIGHEST TOP INTERNET ALBUM CHART POSITION: Number 9
HIT SINGLES: "Oh Aaron" (BILLBOARD: Number 7)
Slightly Better Than Aaron's Party
2006-11-26 - This is a little bit better of an effort from Aaron. His voice hasn't broken yet on this CD but a lot of the songs are still good. My favorites are, Come Follow Me, Jump on the Fizzy, OH Aaron, Not to Young, Not too Old, I'm all about you (isn't this a remake?) as well as others. Good Job Aaron!
HE'S A GIRL I SWEAR!!!!!
2006-01-02 - This cd is his worst cd yet. He has to face the fact that he can't rap. And what the heck is a fizzy?????
Hey, Josef Gulick! time to face reality!

Rock and roll hall of fame????!!!!!!! AARON CARTER IS NOT ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE'S JUST ANOTHER TALENTLESS POP STAR SINGING ABOUT HOW COOL HE IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Rock 'n roll hall of fame????!!!! That just goes to show you how MTV can brainwash anyone into thinking that bubblegum pop is rock 'n roll.
