Editorial Review:
Aaron Neville has a voice and style uniquely his own which is captured on this album although he is often compared to singer Sam Cooke in terms of sheer vocal refinement. Neville performs some of his most popular solo albums including Tell It Like It Is.

Tell It Like It Is [CD on Demand] Reviews:
Neville fan - but this is just Mediocre
2009-04-23 - I bought this because I love Aaron Neville. His voice makes me melt. I bought this CD even thought it got terrible reviews and I have to concur this is just not great. Don't buy this if you are a fan!! I only played it once and have never had it out again.
A nice collection ruined by the use of poor masters
2009-03-07 - This was my first "on-demand" CD-R purchase and I'm quite disappointed. (As a Neville Brothers collector/completist, I don't plan to return the disc, but I do want to warn others about its flaws.) "Wild Flower," "For the Good Times" and "One Fine Day" are all missing their first notes. And every track has some sort of anomaly at its end. After the songs have faded to silence, most have some sort of click (some are very faint; others are quite loud) and two tracks ("All These Things" and "For the Good Times") actually have notes which are part of another song at the end. These problems first showed up several years ago, when these tracks were remastered for release via digital download services. (The same tracks, downloaded from iTunes have the same problems.) Previous mastering(s) did not have these problems and I only know of one other instance where these faulty masterings were used on a CD release (AIM Records' "Tell It Like It Is" 2-CD set.) These same songs are available on several other CDs and I'd recommend buying one of those (until Amazon's supplier rectifies this problem.)
