Editorial Review:
Despite the title, this is not a rebel-rousing call to arms. In fact, the title track is a diatribe against much of contemporary country fare ("What this country needs / is a little more steel guitar"). Unfortunately, the rest of the album doesn't quite live up to this rallying cry. Instead, Tippin treads common ground, too often falling back on Eagles' country-rock conventions and lovelorn balladry. There are exceptions, of course, namely the revelatory "I'm Leaving," the barroom swinger "Don't Stop (We're Just Getting Started)," and the contrite "Back When I Knew Everything." On these, Tippin's Haggardesque vocals and "stone country" image mesh with the material. --Alexandra Russell

What this country needs Aaron Tippin
2000-02-15 - I just ordered this CD because I love "For You I Will". My quest to discover the artist took weeks. I'd hear the song on the radio when they did not announce the artist's name....FINALLY, I heard it and ordered it immediately. I can't wait to play it.
Great country music
1999-10-09 - "For you I will" is one of my favorite country music songs. I listen to this Tippin CD when I'm out in morning during my 3 mile run with my dog. "What this Country Needs" gets me fired up and the rest of the album keeps me running. I'm a Jazz lover, but country music like this, makes me want more and more. Thanks for the great tunes Aaron. When will we see you in Cleveland??
AARON TIPPIN AT HIS BEST!!!!!
1999-04-21 - This is the greatest Aaron Tippin recording ever! His latest effort on the Lyric Street label gives fans what they want, that wonderful Aaron Tippin sound. "For You I Will" is only the beginning. "I'm Leaving" is already his next hit. "Sweetwater" and "You're the Only Reason for Me" are both excellent. I could listen to them over and over. Aaron brings country back to country music. This newest CD in the Aaron Tippin catalog makes wonderful material for the highlight of any fan's dream, an Aaron Tippin concert.

1999-03-26 - This CD is my first by Aaron Tippin. It is absolutely wonderful. I play it each morning for my own private Aaron concert.
