Anyone looking for the key to Abba's enduring appeal should look no further than "Voulez Vous" and "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" for their answer. There was an innocence to the Swedish quartet, even when they were singing about one-night stands and the invitations to them. Gold establishes that the band, while appreciated as campy, were actually multifaceted in their execution. "S.O.S." has a raw urgency in its chorus, and "Does Your Mother Know" draws its energy from classic '50s rock & roll. Likewise, you don't have to be Priscilla to swoon over "Mamma Mia" or "Dancing Queen." And when it comes to drama, those soaring vocals on "The Winner Takes It All" turn the song into a bitter anthem of every relationship that has ever fallen apart. The much-covered "Lay All Your Love on Me" is practically epic. --Steve Gdula

2009-12-10 - CD came ontime but cover was cracked and that was not mentioned when I placed order, however cd is playing great and I am happy.

2009-11-28 - I bought this CD because I've always liked Abba and the songs on this CD are featured in the movie "Mamma Mia." I thoroughly enjoy listening to these songs.
My girls love this album
2009-11-27 - After seeing the movie Mamma Mia, my girls were listening to the Broadway soundtrack. I decided that they should hear the original versions of the songs. They really enjoy hearing the songs sung by singers instead of actors. Now, even my 2-year old sings along Dancing Queen.

2009-11-19 - I went to see theatrical production of Mama Mia - sat on aisle second row - could see stage - actors facial expressions and most of all, the music conductor! Was phenomenol! Bought this CD, it's been in the CD player in my vehicle since the day I received it. Great. Downloaded it on my computer - listen to it all the time. I remember 3-4 of ABBA songs from my youth, but they are all my favorites now. I drive 25 miles to work and back everyday - I sing along and "dance" as much as I can - great music!
