Editorial Review:
This is the ultimate collection from one of the world's greatest rock bands. It's all here, for the first time 17 CDs bursting at the seams, in this one box of rock. From 'High Voltage' (1974) through to 'Stiff Upper Lip' (2000) with all the classic moments in between & the double live album. All original Australian releases with different artwork on a few selected earlier releases & all picture-discs. This is truly a must for any fan! Albert Productions. 2002.
Ac/Dc 17 Album Box Set Reviews:
Don't let them fool you . . .
2007-02-15 - If you are looking for the 17 disc AC/DC box set that is advertised as the import version, but doesn't contain those discs, has them replaced by the American versions, excludes one of the discs on the two disc "Live" set and excludes a disc from the two disc "Stiff Upper Lip" set and is missing quite a few tracks, then you have come to the right place.
However, if you don't feel like spending $500 on a stripped down version of the real thing, then I would suggest that you look somewhere else. It doesn't seem that Amazon is carrying this anymore, even though the pictures above (and the review titled "Worth every cent, essential for fans of hard rock, April 9, 2005") would lead you to believe they are since these are the discs that are supposed to be in this box set.
Very disappointing to order something and not get the correct merchandise. Don't let it happen to you. Also, don't even think about looking at the ultra stripped down version of this set in the $300 range.
Good luck.
A Bit Disappointed
2006-12-28 - I've been an AC/DC fan since a wee lad, Back in Black was the first album I ever bought. I don't have their entire collection so I thought this 17 album box set would be great. I sourced it for $139 USD and it arrived and man am I glad i didn't pay $400 for it. Basically it's a box with 17 CD's in it. Nothing more, nothing less. I was expecting a lot more since they want $400 USD for this box. The Bonfire box set i bought years ago had way more AC/DC trinkets in it. There's just nothing in this but the discs. I figure each disc is worth $10 USD in the store X 17 albums so it would cost you around $200 to make this box set yourself off retail shelves. So i still think i got a great deal and getting them all at once remastered is a nice have it all now move. But no way is this box set worth what Amazon's got it listed for. Look around, find it cheaper. As i said, it's nothing but 17 CD cases inside the box.
ac/dc is the best of the best
2006-08-04 - this is the box set ive been wanting by ac/dc for a long long time. im glad its here now... this is one you'd want to have for yourself. i know almost all- if not all of the songs on this box. and they are all great... but to me any thing by ac/dc blows me away. they are the kings of hardrock. and bon, brian, angus, and the band will always be my favorite among favorites. if you dont have this one yet, and you want a box set this one is for you for sure. bonfire is also a good one.. proud to own it. kds
amazon music
2006-07-05 - Dealing with amazon is such a pleasure. If you are a huge ac/dc fan this box set is for you. All of their classic songs are in there to choose from.
Still playing
2006-07-04 - What an amazing box set. From the hits of "Back in Black" and "Highway to Hell" to the demented speed-driven insanity of "Beating Around the Bush" and the Live recordings this collection is one of the centerpieces of my entire collection. Not to mention that the entire collection comes in the original jewel cases, art, and CD's instead of a box-set series. One thing that really sold me on this is the fact that it is the Australian import collection rather than the stripped down American releases. This is the only AC/DC collection any true fan should ever buy.
5 STARS.
