Bonfire Reviews:
BON SCOTT SET 5 Star Review
2009-12-07 - This box set is a dream come true for the early AC/DC fan. It has three live CD's(one 2cd set being the only place you can get the LET THERE BE ROCK live movie soundtrack) and a CD of earlier material which was rewritten later. The early stuff is cool because the lyrics are different and the songs themselves are different. Also has digi pak of BACK IN BLACK remastered. a MUST buy for the true AC/DC fan.

Goodie Goodie, but Oldie Oldie 4 Star Review
2009-04-29 - Ok, it's not only been almost 30 years since any of this was recorded. Which is fine, btw.

There's awesome music here, fun performances but few words from Bon himself, on the shows. It's just that this particular collection will be more atractive and money-worthing for those who YET have some of this material in vynil and want the digital version. Specially the remastered "Back in Black" album, included in context. And for those who came into AC/DC by the time mp3 was well established, in other words people not used to buy cds who might, in this particular case, do it. Very unlikely.

Also, keep in mind that this box-set has, ALREADY, 12 years of release. And that there's also that 17-record collection, released few years later, that is just a must-have. So, if you became a hardcore fan during the "Ballbreaker", "Stiff Upper Lip" and "Black Ice" era, it might be nice to hear the other songs from the numerous live DVDs the band released this period, in it's original singer's tone. And, of course, if it's about [...] bucks.

2009-04-27 - the product arrived very quickly! one of the cd's little beat scratched
but as long as the cd doesn't jump it doesn't bother me. basicly it was
good deal! but seller should write 'very good or good condition' and not
like new..

Must have for Bon Scott fans 5 Star Review
2009-03-20 - If you love the Bon Scott era of AC/DC this is a must have. The included book itself is excelent. I was disappointed that the 2 CDs titled "Let There be Rock/The Movie/Live in Paris" was not a DVD but a soundtrack (the music was great though). I also don't understand the inclusion of Back in Black as any AC/DC fan will already have it. So, buy this, grab your air guitar and rock out, Bon would have wanted it that way.

Bonfire 5 Star Review
2009-01-19 - I would recommend this boxset to anyone who is a fan of AC/DC, even someone who has all of their albums. This boxset has 5 CDs in it, Live at Atlantic Studios, Volts, Let There Be Rock: Live in Paris Parts 1 and 2, and Back in Black. All of the CDs other Back in Black has live or earlier versions of songs released on another CD.
Live at Atlantic Studios and Let There Be Rock: Live in Paris Parts 1 and 2 are live albums with Bon Scott, like the If You Want Blood (You've Got It) album.
Volts has live songs of Sin City, She's Got Balls, It's A Long Way to the Top, and Ride On. It also has earlier versions of the songs Get It Hot, Touch to Much, and If You Want Blood You've Got It. Back Seat Confidential is also an earlier version of Beating Around The Bush from the Highway to Hell album. It has pretty much the same guitar part. Dirty Eyes, as far as I know, isn't an earlier version of another song. School Days, I believe, is the AC/DC version of the song with the same name by Chuck Berry (though Chuck Berry's is also called Hail Hail Rock n' Roll).
Finally, there is Back in Black. Even though any real fan, which would probably be the only people buying this, probably already has Back in Black, I think it still worth the money. Back in Black has to be my favorite album by AC/DC, thus I do not mind having an extra copy of it. Plus, the other live and new songs are worth having an extra Back in Black around, and if you really don't want the Back in Black you can sell it at a rummage sale or on ebay.
I would recommend this to any fan of AC/DC, but I would probably suggest getting a different album if you have just started listening to AC/DC. If you have just started listening to AC/DC, I would recommend buying an album like Highway to Hell or even Back in Black though it is in this set, because I am sure once you have become a fan you will not mind having 2 or even more copies of Back in Black.
This is a great tribute to Bon Scott, AC/DC's original singer, who died back on February 20, 1980.
Rock on, AC/DC, and may Bon Scott's soul continue to live on in your rock, continuing to inspire you and future generations of rockers to come!
