Stiff Upper Lip Reviews:
you can't stop rock and roll
2009-12-05 - another in a long line of ACDC albums that this legendary band continues to release.i know i might ruffle some feathers with long time ACDC fans, but what i like about this cd is that this seems to be the only brian johnson era cd where they tried to go back for the old bon scott blues/boogie feel.no it's not LET THERE BE ROCK or HIGH VOLTAGE ,but still great.
more of the same
2009-10-14 - critics say ac/dc have released the same album 18 times and thats true, but oh what an album it is,pure, driving, sizzling blues rock that will have you rockin with your speaker all the way up.this is a must own for ac/dc fans or just plain lover of rock
It Hurts Me To Say This But...
2008-11-15 - This album sucks bad. I love AC/DC but this is lame. The songs are dull, uninspired and VERY forgettable. Satellite Blues and Safe In NYC are ok, but the rest of them are just plain bad. I think the biggest problem is more than likely that Brian Johnson doesn't take any part in the songwriting and it shows. Angus and Malcom are good songwriters, but the best post-Bon Scott era AC/DC songs have always been written by Angus, Malcom AND Brian.
Good Album
2008-09-10 - As usual, AC/DC doesn't disapoint with Stiff Upper Lip. Strong, blues driven rock from the opening title track to the final track "Give it Up". The one thing that I can always enjoy about AC/DC is that when you buy an album from them, you know exactly what you're going to get. No worrying about whether Malcolm or Angus are going through a blue period or whether they're feeling a little EMO this week. No, no, no...once again songs are driven by the indulgences of life (women, drugs, booze, fighting and good ole' Rock and Roll).
My personal favorite tracks are "House of Jazz", "Stiff Upper Lip", "Safe in New York City", "Can't Stand Still" and "Meltdown". This album doesn't have a feel like any other AC/DC album but it's the standard you would expect from AC/DC lyric and vibe wise.
BUY IT!!!
I got stiff!
2008-05-18 - No way to explain...is just AC/DC!When you heard this album for the first time, you already realize that is ,no dout:they never changed and never will!Enjoy!
