Editorial Review: No Description Available. Genre: Music Video: Concerts Rating: NR Release Date: 11-NOV-2003 Media Type: DVD AC/DC - Live at Donington Reviews: These guys are the real deal. 2009-10-03 - I rented this, then bought it. It's the only concert vid I've watched more than twice and it's because the music is produced perfectly on this recording. TURN IT UP! It's definitely best loud.
If you're a guitarist who loves Angus' playing, get this. You won't regret the shots of him shredding, and you'll be amazed at the sound he gets from his wireless GS.
If you're a bassist who loves Cliff's playing, get this. You won't regret watching how the bottom end should be done correctly -- while singing.
If you're a rhythm guitarist who is curious about the brains behind this band, get this and watch how it's done -- with a Gretsch guitar.
If you're a drummer who needs to learn how to play without using ride cymbals or elaborate fills, get this. Chris Slade, the replacement for Phil Rudd (who'd now back in the band) is a master of killin' it without flash or fills. And if you want to see how 1/8th notes are done at 200 bpm, he shows you how to do it, -- for over ten minutes.
If you're a singer who loves Bon Scott, too bad. You'll have to suffer through Brian Johnson's screeching. I know, I know, you either love his singing or hate it. Now you know where I stand.
If you're just a fan who wonders how Angus stays so thin, get this so you can see him run about 5 miles during his performance. It's almost unbelievable.
I expected more for my money 2009-08-27 - Let's be honest, when you buy a video of a band performing live, you want to see the band - right? There is enough footage of the crowd to make an entire video. What footage of the band you do see is usually from very poor angles. the only way to see good angles is to go into the extras and view the cam of whatever band member you choose. Now you are stuck with watching only that band member. The song selection is great and the sound is pretty good. Whoever thought is was a good idea to film the bnd from behind and a 3/4 behind angle was really way off target. I have a problem with the quick cut editing as well. When you do see a brief clip of a band member, it is usually just that. I split second shot of that person and not always from a good angle at that. I was totally let down with this video and I am sorry I wasted my money. This is a strict "rent only." There is no way I would watch this twice. They used 26 cameras to film this and you will see them often in the video. I am wondering where all the good footage went. A lot of the video is very grainy and quite a bit looks terrible due to the lighting onstage. IF you want to see the bands [...], watch this video. If you want to see a drummers bld head, watch this video. If you like sweeping camera shots of large crowds with the occasional crowd close-up, watch this video. If you want to see a good concert video, look elsewhere.
One of the best live bands! 2009-08-13 - AC/DC was, always and is still possibly the best live band in ROCK N ROLL. This is a testament to that statement.
Takes no prisoners 2009-04-14 - These guys were on that night. Angus was a show in himself and the sound and camera work was excellent. I just locked down the den turned up the surround sound to 11 and it was just like being at the show.
Good Music, Poor Video 2009-04-01 - Gave this a two because of the songs. The video on this DVD is very poor. I don't even think that the sound is from the actual concert. If you watch everyone playing and listen to the sound, their movements don't match up with the music. I guess if you were going to order this, you'd want to get the Blu-ray so you'd at least have a better video (although I haven't seen the Blu-ray, I'd imagine it would be crisper). If you just want to listen to some songs, and see the band along with those songs, then get this DVD. If you want a realistic experience, skip this product.
