Editorial Review:
Slacker actress Jane F(Anna Faris), is having a bad day that is getting more outrageous by the minute. Jane’s misadventures begin when she treats herself to a batch of cupcakes left unattended by her psycho roommate (Danny Masterson) that prove not as innocent as they appear. She then bums a ride from her roommate’s friend (John Krasinski)and attempts to cross town so she can repay an unforgiving drug dealer, attend an audition, and somehow replace the precious cupcakes. Enjoy the wild journey as Jane’s efforts to get through her day prove an arduous task of epic proportions.
Smiley Face Reviews:
definitely worth seeing if you're a stoner
2009-12-20 - This movie, to me, is better than half-baked. Anna Farris does an amazing, hilarious job of playing a dumb, scared, stoner with her trademark facial expressions. I laughed many times throughout the whole thing, and I wasn't even stoned, though I pretty much felt like I was getting high just watching the film. There are some other great actors you will recognize in this movie....harold from harold & kumar, danny trejo (that mexican guy that's been in everything), Jim from The Office, Hyde from That 70's show, Tom whatever(jump to conclusions game guy) from Office Space, etc. that really help glue it all together.
Worst movie ever made!
2009-12-17 - Saw the movie on TV one night, it was so bad that I tried to watch it for the novelty value and couldn't even get more than 1/2 an hour in. I bought it for a friend as a bad gift because we have made that a tradition, of exchanging the worst gifts we can find. There's no way he'll out do me this Christmas!
Pretty fun (and a bit unnerving), but would probably be boring if not Stoned
2009-12-11 - Decent POV-stoner flick. Weird sound effects/visual oddities add a lot. Lack of plot doesn't hinder that much (the script however is pretty terrible). Though Anna Faris' character is delightful most of the time, she does get annoying eventually, due to her utter stupidity (trying to sell the gov't weed to everyone/not looking the cop in the face...i mean come on!) I kept asking myself, was there a bunch of liquid acid in those cupcakes 'cause this girl is tripping out of her mind, much more so than pot really allows. Another note, if her roomie is such a skull f-ing square, why did he make pot food? Odd. Well verisimilitude is important when viewing this, I suppose. It's something of a one-note movie and not quite as good as say Harold and Kumar 1 or Dazed and Confused etc but enjoyable, only whilst under the influence.
It's Okay to Be Stupid... If You're Funny...
2009-12-10 - Anna Faris is the only bright spot in an otherwise inane film. The problems begin with the screenplay; populated by one-note characters, a non-existent storyline and dreadful dearth of jokes. One must wonder if the writer or director had ever partaken of the forbidden flora, as the experience is depicted as being akin to dropping acid after a 3 day meth bender, full of talking dogs and flaming skulls. John Krasinski has nothing to do in this film and only succeeds in being as boring as his character is implied to be. The "plot" revolves around a young "actress" who spends all day getting high and playing video games. Her one and only love is her expensive new bed, and it is the threat of losing this bed that drives the "action" in the film. It's nonsensical, unenlightening, and worst of all, unfunny.
Love this movie
2009-11-22 - This movie has everything that a comedy should have. A beautiful, talented, lead actress. Silly, colorful story, fast pace. Well, I'm kind of an Anna Faris fan. A couple intellectual discussions brought back memories of being in college. Had to buy the DVD twice because it got loned out and never came back. If the adventures of late teen /early 20's people interest you, you should enjoy this movie!
