Unlike 1993's classic Honky Tonk Christmas, which was almost entirely original tunes, 10 of these 11 tracks are well-known holiday favorites. But one of the highlights of that 1993 release was Jackson's cover of Burl Ives's very familiar "Holly Jolly Christmas," which he subsequently made his own. Jackson's warm, soothing voice also works wonders here, with the arrangements doing their part to transform this into yet another yuletide classic. In fact, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" is one of the most touching versions ever recorded. Be it a semi-jazzy "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," the honky-tonk piano on a rousing "Jingle Bells," a gorgeous acoustic-based "Silent Night," or "The Christmas Song" delivered with a pleasant twang, these tracks deserve perennial play. --Bill Holdship

2009-11-19 - I bought this disc for the title track but the whole thing is great. Where else can you find the second verse of Jingle Bells?? The arrangements are nice, the recording quality is great, the song selection is also very nice. I would highly recommend this, especially if you are a country music fan.

Let it be Christmas everywhere
2008-12-21 - This is absolutely one of our favorite Christmas albums second only to Alabama's Christmas album and is a must have for any Christmas OR Country music fan. Our favorite is "Let it be Christmas". Alan's voice is simply amazing. Curl up on the couch or floor in front of the fireplace with egg nog and Christmas cookies. It doesn't get any better than that.
