In the decade since his debut, Alan Jackson has matured as both singer and songwriter while his resolute traditionalism remains unchanged. As usual, his original numbers account for the best moments, including the hit "www.memory" and heartland anthem "Where I Come From," both outclassing the cartoonish non-original "It's Alright to Be a Redneck," yet another variation on Jeff Foxworthy's tired comedic hook. Jackson's masterful title track reiterates his genius with a ballad, as does his passionate interpretation of Robert Lee Castleman's loungy "Maybe I Should Stay Here." Don't dare assume he'd tone down the acerbic commentaries he began on "Gone Country" and continued on "Murder on Music Row." As roaring guitars battle traditional steel guitar, "Three Minute Positive Not Too Country Uptempo Love Song" allows Jackson to plunge his lyrical daggers into country radio consultants, whose soulless, analytical number-crunching determines who does--and doesn't--get airplay. 2006-07-02 - I have enjoyed listening to Alan Jackson's "When Somebody Loves You". I received the CD promptly.

2006-04-17 - I don't really Love this cd but one song on there really called out to me and it was "When Somebody loves You" I Love that song.
always great, always pure country
2004-05-15 - Alan Jackson is one of the few best-selling artists who throughout his long career has kept "real country music" thriving; during Nashville's ups and downs and pop crossover cycles, Jackson never left his roots, and for that we thank him.
In this platinum CD, which was his 10th recording, his wonderful baritone voice and relaxed style make all 11 tracks great listening.
Three of the five songs written by Jackson in this album were released as singles: "www.memory", "When Somebody Loves You", and the terrific "Where I Come From", which peaked at # 1 on the Billboard charts.
Other favorites include the opening "Meat and Potatoes Man", which is funny and tailor-made for Jackson's humor, the romantic, lilting "Maybe We Should Stay Here", and Jackson's "Three Minute Positive Not Too Country Up-tempo Love Song", which is a showpiece for his fabulous band (guitars: Bruce Watkins/acoustic, Paul Franklin/steel, Brent Mason/electric. 2002-04-21 - This is a great album. Some of the songs are cute like, 'Meat And Potato Man,' and 'It's Alright To Be A Redneck.' My favorite song is 'Where I Come From.' Alan Jackson is very talented and makes country excellent! I'd recommend this cd.
