Editorial Review: Studio: Wea-des Moines Video Release Date: 07/01/1997 Jagged Little Pill Live Reviews: Excellent 2008-01-23 - i rented this from Netflix and now I can't wait to own it. I think it's a excellent music DVD, very enjoyable to watch. I like how the clips on her change from differnt performances, where some of you didn"t care for it. Either way, I think it is excellent.
Unbelievably HORRIBLE 2006-07-06 - We have begun to assemble quite an extensive collection of concert DVDs and this is, by far, the worst one we have purchased to date!! In fact, we will be returning the DVD and don't particularly care whether or not it can be returned for store credit or for a return of our money, we just want it out of our collection. We sat through this entire performance, just hoping that it would get better...what a WASTE of time. It is too bad that such a fantastic artist could produce and direct something that can be best described as complete and total garbage! DO NOT waste your money on this DVD!
Garbage from a phenomenal artist 2006-06-15 - Alanis Morissette is one of this generations most talented musicians, and one of the best live rock performers I've ever seen and heard. I cannot believe this piece of trash of a DVD was released and approved by her. The quality and jump cutting to mini interviews and documentary's comes off like someone on drugs. This was a show that should've been captured on screen for everyone to see and how it got slaughtered like this is unreal to me. The documentary stuff should've been added to a special features link or a b-side. If this wasn't enough, she released years later, "Feast on Scraps", which I thought would be her full, untouched, untampered with concert, and was I wrong, it was the same botched up garbage that was done on this one. A quintessential artist such as this who has been around for over ten years and still has yet to produce and release a full length, perfectly visual and audio concert, and hasn't done so, it's just tragic.
Not Great, Not All That Bad 2006-01-18 - As you've probably noticed from the other reviews, this is not your typical concert DVD. Had I read these reviews first, I never would have ordered this DVD. Am I happy I have it? Yes. But then, I'm a collector - I have over 60 music and concert DVDs. And down at number 60 in my collection is just about where I'd rank it. It's interesting, albeit perhaps a bit pretentious, with all the mixing of visual images and sound scrapes. Often I wish they would have just given us the concert with nice, high quality sound. But when they do give us the concert sound, often it's awesome and so great to hear it in 5.1 instead of the regular CD version. And then often, it's cool to hear all the different versions of her sound. The good news about this DVD is that you can rent it online and check it out for very little cost if you can get a fast turn-around.
Should you buy this DVD? Yes, if you are a huge Morissette fan, a huge concert DVD fan and have tons of them or a huge DD 5.1 fan. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it; you'll probably be disappointed.
