Editorial Review:
Two CD set. Songs for Tibet - The Art of Peace Music Project. Proceeds that the Art Of Peace Foundation receives goes to peace related projects. As a show of solidarity with the Dalai Lama and Tibet, 20 artists have come together to release this historic double album on the eve of the Beijing Olympics. These recordings - some original for the project and some acoustically driven recordings of previously released songs - express our common vulnerabilities and experiences in pursuing happiness, peace and freedom. Collectively, these tracks represent a heartfelt message of support for the path of compassion and non-violence championed by the Dalai Lama. Begun in May of 2008 and completed in two months, the outpouring of support from all corners of the world was unparalleled. Funds raised from the album will go to support peace initiatives and Tibetan cultural preservation projects important to the Dalai Lama.
Songs for Tibet - The Art of Peace Reviews:
Peaceful Indeed
2009-11-12 - The album is FOR peace, so it should make you feel peaceful while listening to it... and it does. The songs are beautiful and peaceful. I recommend it to anyone who likes background music while sleeping, reading, cooking, whatever.

Songs for Tibet
2009-01-08 - Excellent assortment of songs and musicians; a fantastic compilation and production. Also a good cause; this CD became a staple on my Christmas
gift-giving list.
songs for tibet
2008-11-16 - many of the artist on this cd i would not normally listen to. but if you want to get an idea of how some of them sound AND help defend the freedom of a country and people, then this cd is a must. even if you just want to help you could give as a gift.
I REALLY wanted it have more new stuff...
2008-11-02 - I really wanted to give this CD a higher review...REALLY! The cause is freaking great! I sooooo support correcting the situation that Tibet is in right now and I am all about encouraging peace (I swear I am not a hippy). And this CD is FILLED with a bunch of my favorite artists...So where could it go wrong? I was foaming at the mouth for it to come out. Well...The cause is great and the artists are great (at least to me), but honestly this is a review of the content and on that, I was only marginally happy. First, just about all of it was remakes of other songs that the artists had done...They couldn't write something new for this CD? What's up with that! And in almost every case the remake was actually less appealing (again, at least to me) than the original. So with great sadness I give this CD a three. It's NOT *bad*...But if you already have love these artists and have their CDs, don't expect to get anything new.
