Iron Eagle 2 Reviews:

Good 80's soundtrack, but not worth the hefty price tag
2008-01-30 - The soundtrack to Iron Eagle II might not be anywhere near as impressive as the first Iron Eagle soundtrack, but it's still a pretty cool 80's soundtrack album. All of the heavyweights from that first album - Dio, Queen, King Kobra, Helix - are missing, but artists like Mike Reno (of Loverboy), Rick Springfield, Alice Cooper, and Britny Fox are on hand to pick up the slack.
It's a fun album overall, and has that great cheesy/inspiring feel that only an 80's movie soundtrack can have. Unfortunately the disc's scarcity and high price tag put it out of reach of all but the most dedicated 80's rock fans. Add that to the fact that aside from Mike Reno and Rick Springfield's contributions, most of the better songs on the album are available elsewhere. The Alice Cooper and FM (UK) songs are available on studio albums or compilations, and the Britny Fox b-side Livin' on the Edge, which was a real selling point, is now included on the reissue of their debut album.
The Iron Eagle II soundtrack is one of the more sought after items from the 80's rock era, but unlike its predecessor it seems less and less necessary as the years go by. If you happen across a used copy, by all means pick it up, but I can't recommend paying the "collectors" price for it.

This was a fun Rock-video-style movie for it's time albiet it's not-so-believable
depiction of some kid with a little help from his friends flies a jet fighter behind enemy lines in the Middle Ease to rescue his father who is a POW. The music provided a great backdrop for this MTV-Video-like movie, which the 80's saw quite a few of. Personally, I enjoyed this movie found it fun and exciting like an adventuous amusment park roller coaster. Again, like amusment park attractions are strictly fun and exciting but nothing else. This movie is the same but with little realisticness.
