Editorial Review:
And now, America's own Billion Dollar Babies ... the legendary ALICE COOPER!
The original Rock ’n’ Roll Spectacle. The groundbreaking tour. The five original members of the Alice Cooper group captured live. The 1973 Billion Dollar Babies show was the first of its kind. No other band had ever brought a more expensive, elaborate theatrical production to the rock stage -- and rarely has any since.
Now available for the FIRST TIME since it hit theaters in 1974, Good To See You Again, Alice Cooper -- the film made during the Billion Dollar Babies tour that combines stunning concert footage with an outrageous story and also features the band’s acting debut — has been transferred in high definition and now includes a new 5.1 Surround Sound mix.
The crunching music, the snake, the guillotine, the makeup, the hatchets, mannequins and dolls, the money, the whips -- it all started here. Alice Cooper kicked the door down. All the other artists followed behind.
Featuring 13 Alice Cooper classics recorded live in concert:

Description of Good To See You Again, Alice Cooper - Live 1973 - Billion Dollar Babies Tour:
They billed it as "the film that outgrosses them all," but if some of the antics on display in Good To See You Again, Alice Cooper - Live 1973 seem fairly mild some thirty years after the fact, that's mainly because people like Marilyn Manson and some of the more lurid punk and metal acts copped many of their moves from Cooper in the first place. This movie, which combines footage from the band's Billion Dollar Babies concert tour with what might charitably be described as a storyline, had a brief theatrical run in the mid-'70s but has been mostly unseen until this DVD release, which features a high definition transfer and a new sound mix. The group (with its namesake singer joined by original members Michael Bruce and Glen Buxton on guitar, Dennis Dunaway on bass, and drummer Neal Smith) was in the midst of a nice run of hits at the time; "No More Mr. Nice Guy," "Eighteen," and "School's Out" are all ably performed here, but it's the stage show in all its Grand Guignol glory that's the prime attraction. Clockwork Orange-style violence, necrophilia, decapitation via guillotine, humping mannequins, sticking baby dolls with swords: that and more is on display here, all in the name of what Cooper, whose commentary track is the major bonus feature, describes as "performance art." Well, maybe. Most of it comes off as little more than a hodgepodge of disconnected images--some vile and vulgar, some merely silly--designed to thrill the kids and piss off the parents, which it most certainly did… and ain't that what rock & roll is all about? As for the "story" (something about a crazed film director out for vengeance after Alice ruins his masterpiece) that's intercut with the concert numbers, the best that can be said about it is that viewers have the option of choosing the "play concert only" option. --Sam Graham
Good To See You Again, Alice Cooper - Live 1973 - Billion Dollar Babies Tour Reviews:
Classic Alice!
2009-08-27 - I had this on a poor quality VHS so it was reat to be able to get it on a newly mastered high quality DVD! Not only that, but the DVD had a couple songs not on the old VHS ("My Stars" and "Raped and Freezin").
This is Alice at full Power On... no holding back, no give a damn, all out Alice. While this is awesome and enlightening to see in places just how depraved he was back then, some of the antics take away from the performances. The music is tight (you can see some extra players now and again in the background)but on occasion Alice forgets the lyrics. I suppose it's hard to concentrate on words when you're being chased by a giant dentists drill! So all is forgiven.
" VINTAGE ALICE !!!....A MUST SEE !.. : ) "
2009-07-16 - "Trying to put this DVD into words is about as difficult as describing the Many Layers of the Music of Alice cooper..First Off..If you are Easily Offended PLEASE BUY THIS !! (MUAHAHAHA !!! : ) The Band is The Original Line-up,and THEY ROCK !!!, The Stage is Elaborate, the Effects are Great, I can't say Enough about How Tight the Band Was, I was around 11 when this was happening, and as mentioned by a different reviewer, the Antics, and Mystique, and Darkness of Alice Cooper was by 'Word of Mouth'..*Interesting to note that Alice was Still Partying back then, and to hear him Reflect in the commentary about it was interesting..This Was The Man/Band that Launched Many Acts ex: Marilyn Manson, and just about any band in Make-up that followed..(You fill in the blanks.. : ) This Business about 'The Skits' entwined' throughout the Flick is a matter of Taste/Humor..You have the Option of just watching the Concert..So Relax !..I think the performance by Smoot 'Herr Director', 'Lone Person', and others and his Awesomely Funny Sidekick Henchman 'Baron Krelve' played by Jefferson Kewley, Definately ADD to the Flick'..It allows you to get a Taste, and sink your Teeth into The Bands Vibe, and Sense of Humor..*Jefferson Kewley incidently is quite an Achieved Guitarist,He toured and recorded for acts like Neil Diamond,Grateful Dead, and Others, as well as Touring with Alice, and still Rocks Today around the New York State Area.. If You are an Alice Fan..Just Get IT !.. I Think this Personifies some of the Cool Stuff we had going on as a kid in the 70's..If you took a HUGE BLENDER..and added ingredients like..The Munsters,Frankenstein,Dracula,Underdog,..a dash of The Manson Clan, a splash of Jeffrey Dahmer, a smidgeon of Soupy Sales/Uncle Floyd Show, maybe a hint of Howard Stern, and a pinch of the Adams Family..Press the 'PUREE' button..pour into a Large Snakeskin ,Plat-formed GLOW-IN-THE-DARK GO-GO Boot Shaped Glass..That May Give ya' a Taste of the Flavor of This Concert..Enjoy, and Drive Safely !! : )
Must have for any Cooper fan.
2009-04-22 - This quirky video not only entertains you with the goofy antics expected from Alice Cooper, but also some great concert footage covering their whole repertoire. Like I stated before, a must have for all Cooper fans.
Great For It's Time
2009-01-31 - If you're expecting a cimematic masterpiece, don't bother with this DVD. If you're looking for a raw 70's Alice Cooper show, this is a treasure. I would give 5 stars if the concert footage had been filmed better. As others have stated the cameras don't spend enough time on the rest of the band. However it's all we got, so we'll just have to take it as it is. Sadly I am too young to have seen this lineup live (I'm only 41)so I was in the 1st grade during this tour. I went to my first concert in 1977, which was Alice Cooper's Lace and Whiskey tour and the show had grown much more theatrical by then. He's still around, and still puts on a great show. I do agree with the reviewer that said that the original band should get back together and do a tour, maybe record a song or two...Bands today owe these guys a lot. Fun Fact: The guy that plays Nixon during the Star Spangled Banner also appears as Nixon in "Where The Buffalo Roam" with Bill Murray. By the way, I can't get the hidden easter eggs to work, I've tried on two different computers :(
great
2008-11-09 - This is something I have been looking for 35 year's! I was at this concert in Dallas, and belive it or not, I still remember a lot of it. Thank you Amazon, Russell Fleming!
