Editorial Review:
The Second Album from the Young Corsican Singer who Follows the Libertine Philosophy of her Mentor, Mylene Farmer. Her Debut Album "Gourmandises" Sold Over Four Million Worldwide and Garnered her Many Awards, Including the World Music Award for Best New Artist. This One Promises to Be an Even Bigger Smash, Spearheaded by the First Single "j'en Ai Marre" (Or "i'm Fed Up" in English).
Mes Courants Electriques Reviews:
Better than I was expecting
2008-01-06 - I was introduced to Alizee through World of Warcraft. My nephew showed me a video with all of the dances, and Jen ai Marre was the song playing in the background for one of them. I really fell in love with the song, and saw the CD here. I decided to pick it up.
Needless to say, I really dig this CD. While there are some perennial favorites for me, the whole thing is really enjoyable. The melody is just fantastic and her voice seems to have a lot of soul to it. If this is considered "Pop music", I want to hear more like it here in the states.
I only wish I knew French to truly understand it...
speedy delivery
2007-05-07 - The delivery was very quick. the product intact. the CD sounds great.
Wonderful too !
2007-02-22 - One of my favorite CDs.
If you love this you should also buy the DVD "En Concert." I have it and am absolutely delighted with it and its companion CD of the same name.
Excellent Music
2007-01-04 - My step-daughter laughed when she found out I was listening to this music. I'm a metal head from WAY back, and only discovered Alizee' because one of my friends daughters was playing it. I enjoy the melodies and arrangements, and am looking forward to the 3rd album, coming out sometime this year.
This music is "pop" music in French - however, it is infectious and satisfying in a manner that Christina, Britney and most other American "pop" stars arent. Maybe thats just because its in French, but that does NOT detract from the tight production and just dam good singing.
Even better than her first?
2006-12-16 - I'm not sure...I still don't care for her ballads. And some of her stuff is still kind of silly. But (again), what I like I *really* like. I'm torn to decide which album is best. That's because I'm torn over whether I like "Veni Vedi Vici" or "J'Ai Pas Vingt Ans" more. Not sure. I recommend both albums as well as her live DVD. Her music is (overall) very upbeat, catchy and melodic. I don't speak a lick of French but it doesn't take anything away from the music (for me) at all. I could care less about her 'image' or her 'packaging'. Being in America I am pretty much immune to that stuff. As far as lip-synching live, it doesn't matter. She's *very* easy on the eyes and very charismatic whether she's really singing or not.
