    Description of Something's Gotta Give:
As upscale sitcoms go, Something's Gotta Give has more to offer than most romantic comedies. Obviously working through some semi-autobiographical issues regarding "women of a certain age," writer-director Nancy Meyers brings adequate credibility and above-average intelligence to what is essentially (but not exclusively) a fantasy premise, in which an aging lothario who's always dated younger women (Jack Nicholson, more or less playing himself) falls for a successful middle-aged playwright (Diane Keaton) who's convinced she's past the age of romance, much less sexual re-awakening. As long as old pals Nicholson and Keaton are on screen discussing their dilemma or discovering their mutual desire, Something's Gotta Give is terrific, proving (in case anyone had forgotten) that Hollywood can and should aim for an older demographic. Myers falls short with the sitcom device of a younger lover (Keanu Reeves) who wants Keaton as much as Nicholson does; it's believable but shallow and too easily dismissed. Myers also skimps on supporting roles for Frances McDormand, Amanda Peet, and Jon Favreau, but thankfully this is one romantic comedy that doesn't pander to youth. Mature viewers, rejoice! --Jeff Shannon

    Something's Gotta Give Reviews:
Witty and Charming 5 Star Review
2009-12-16 - This is one of my favorite movies. It's witty and charming. I think the screenplay is great. I loved the diversity of characters in the film. It always makes me laugh!

    Diane Keaton 5 Star Review
2009-11-24 - The reason I ordered this movie is because I absolutely love it and wanted to have my own copy to watch whenever I wanted. I especially like the low pricing of movies on Amazon.

Great Dating Movie for the Over 50 Group 5 Star Review
2009-08-21 - This is a great dating movie for those of us over 50 years of age............how true it depicts the difference between men and women after a breakup - men date younger women and women cry for days........been there and done that and probably most women can totally relate. Kianu Reeves is the sexy, nice younger man who loves older women and how true that is and I know first hand as I am in the dating world. I love Jack Nicholson and again the cast was great. Makes you laugh and cry and I love happy endings.

    Great movie 5 Star Review
2009-08-02 - A friend told me I HAD to see this movie. And I'm glad I not only saw it, but added it to my library. It's a great story. Diane Keaton is so real. And Jack Nicholson is well, Jack Nicholson - the best. Laughed like crazy a few times.

Something's Gotta Give 5 Star Review
