All I Have Reviews:
Amerie Steps Into The Scene Eloquently
2009-10-03 - This is the 15-track Japan Import with exclusive artwork, bonus songs, and lyrical booklet with English words to the songs. The obi-strip, extras, and style make this a collectors choice or a die-hard fan must! This is Amerie's debut album making a sure fire step into the R&B platform of sensational divas. While her later albums like Touch and Because I Love It offer more up-tempo tracks, this one manages to hold on its own for the quality, song-writing, and rhythm-n-blues production. This is a phenomenal album standing the test of time and displaying an artist with class, confidence, but most of all talent!
The bonus tracks are "Just What I Needed To See" [3:15] presenting a strong attitude when her lover is found with someone else. The music is mid-tempo and the singing is definitely rich and soulfully sung. "Why Don't We Fall In Love" (Main Mix Featuring Ludacris) [3:31] has much hip-hop, rap, and darker edgier styles for those who prefer that. Ludacris presents his fast rhymes quite extraordinarily emphasizing the words to the song dramatically along Amerie's soft sensual vocally inflective tone. "Why Don't We Fall In Love" (Richcraft Remix) [3:56] is a dance up-tempo track for the club junkies but with more of a vibe than an intense techno/trance style. This is a hint, a dose, a sprinkle of dance not a huge over the top shift preserving the vocals completely.
When the average music listener plays this album the effects to each is diverse. The melody is at times laid back, thought provoking, and at others romantic, love infused, or attitude filled. At no points is there profanity, sensual overtones, or out of line vocals to degrade a woman's worth. All the contrary, this is music with class, high quality sound production, and fabulous messages. This is one of the few slow laid back R&B albums I can hear without skipping tracks or getting bored. Amerie is definitely talented in singing at varying pitch levels, diverse musical styles as compared in all albums released, and in presenting a no filler type album. Enjoy, and pass on the message of this very much super talented music artist!
Diva In The Making
2005-02-19 - I bought this album after hearing one song and I was suprised by the talent that Amerie posesses. She has a sultry style all her own and her voice is amazing. I have to give her props on such an amazing debut album. I can't wait until her sophomore album hits the streets. This CD is a MUST HAVE!!
