International pressing of the 2007 album from the R&B star includes two bonus tracks: '1 Thing' and 'Losing U'. As a whole, Because I Love It, Amerie's third album, unapologetically falls into no particular box. There are many elements ('70s soul, '80s New Wave, Hip Hop, live instrumentation), yet the sound is remarkably consistent throughout and makes complete sense. Although the musical inspiration is broad, the arrangement of the material is signature Amerie: strong, aggressive vocals, beautiful melodies, and lush harmonies. Sony/BMG. 2007.

VERY PLAYFUL 
2008-09-01 - I don't undertsand why people sleep on Amerie when she really does have a voice and some talent. Her third album was like the playful upgraded eighties album. I enjoyed almost every track but the ones that tried to make her sound hard! great album!

2008-08-16 - third effort by Amerie that saw her writing on every track on this cd. But for some unknown reason it never got released in the States. I only got it because it was recommended to me otherwise i wouldnt have known about it myself which is unfortunate as this release sees her go in a direction that most arent going into. It has a feel from one of the earlier decades 70s or 80s feel but updated with today's sound to it that makes just about every track on here an instant winner. Even included her smash hit "1 Thing" on this import and an extra song as well, Making this import of Because I Love It that much more appealing. I hope that her next effort isnt shelved and not released to the public because Amerie continues to grow and emerge as an artist to really watch.
Why did it never make it to the US?!?!?!?!? 
2008-08-13 - For you Amerie fans, all I have to say is "Why did this album never make it to the US?" It's an awesome collection of music that has a 80's touches here and there and it's AWESOME! For those who are not too familiar with her music, let's just say if you're OVER Beyonce and looking for some originality and good stuff, look no further! Amerie also has a Mix Tape "Because I Love It Vol. 1" and it's SLAMMIN!!!
AMERIE, WHAT'S IN YOUR FUTURE? 
2008-06-10 - It is apparent that Amerie worked very hard on this cd and pushed herself beyond her previous efforts!! It's unfortunate that this cd was released in Europe only...because of someone else! But the stupid move by the record company will cause her to be an international star as it seems she will be if her management is paying attention. Anyway this is my first Amerie cd and there are some songs I could do without but there are some songs she nails over and over again! She put in work!!!!
Amerie Im sorry! I love you but this albums goes to the birds! 
2008-04-30 - I am a BIG! Huge! Amerie fan and this album simply disappoints me. There are only two songs that I play and then I stick it back in my cd case. Take it from a person who has bought Amerie's debut (which was overlooked, but one of the best albums back in 2002), and her second album, was good but wasnt as good as the first one (and I actually liked all of the songs on the cd), but this one is just horrible!! If you decide to get this cd, the best songs on there is: 'Make me over', 'That's what UR', and 'Somebody up there must love me'.....everything else sounds like she hopped in a time chamber and just said "80s! To the rescue!!!", but yeah, Im sorry Amerie. That's probably why it never got released in the states.
