    Dollhouse: Season One Reviews:
great Sci-fy show 5 Star Review
2009-12-25 - Show really picks up after the 5th show. The early shows are stand alone episodes but then everything improves as a central theme becomes apparent.

Worth the wait 5 Star Review
2009-12-15 - I'm going to ignore Joss Whedon in this review. Yeah, yeah, brilliant, funny, blah, whatever. Let's try to focus on the series. Dollhouse could, quite frankly, lose its first five episodes. You should probably watch or skim them just to get into the plot, but really, Dollhouse Season 1 Episode 1 is Man On the Street. Starting with that, and going through to the end, the series is not only worth watching, but easily the best science fiction drama on TV right now (sorry, Fringe).

If you need more reason than that, let me point you to the rather shocking 13th episode. It opens 10 years later. I won't spoil it, but it does a masterful job of acting as both teaser for the rest of the series and (because they didn't know if the second season would happen), capstone for the story arc. You see where it was all headed. You find out what happens (though not in detail) to many of the characters and you're left wanting more!

If you decide to pick up the second season when it comes out, there's only one caveat: it too starts rather weak. In this case, it's clear that they spend a bit too much time trying to knit Season 1 as aired, the 13th episode, and the second season together. It comes off as a bit too deliberate. That said, when the second season picks up about half way through, it's the same roller-coaster ride as the first, and every bit as worth seeing!

Far from perfect, but pretty darn good 4 Star Review
2009-12-08 - Season 1 of Dollhouse got off to a slow start, with several of the early episodes developing great characters but not doing a lot of interesting things with them. However, the second half of season 1 picked up such that the DVDs are well worth owning if you're a fan of dark, character-driven science fiction. As with the other Whedon projects I've seen (I still haven't gotten around to watching Buffy or most of Angel), Dollhouse is all about the cast's chemistry and the funny one-liners scattered amidst the action, drama, and crazy plot twists.

If you hate Whedon and think CSI spin-offs are the best thing on television, it should go without saying that Dollhouse is not for you. If you've enjoyed any of Dollhouse season 2 and are wondering whether the first season is worth your time: it is!

Reading Between the Lines 5 Star Review
2009-11-30 - Buying the first season of Dollhouse on DVD was a great decision for me as a die hard fan. It was a lot easier to rewind things I didn't quite understand or wanted to watch over and over.
I also was able to share my love of this awesome TV show with my friends. Although this show won't be returning for a third season, it will always be one of the most intellectual and surprising programs to ever make it's way to a second season on FOX.
They are fools for canceling it.

    Enjoy the DVD! It's brilliant!

The First Joss Whedon Show that Deserved to be Canceled 1 Star Review
2009-11-29 - The first three episodes are unwatchable. Utter garbage, a , asexual sex fantasy starring the worst actress working today. Long live Buffy and Firefly, two of the best shows ever aired, but this thing is a abortion of digital media.
