Editorial Review:
Anna Kournikova is everybody's darling. Now this beautiful young woman who is one of the biggest draws ever on the tennis tour is releasing her own, eagerly anticipated fitness guide. The excercise program performed by Anna is suitable for all age levels, from budding teenage tennis players to the keep-fit conscious adult, and includes a variety of routines suitable for both beginners and experienced athletes. Designed to enable the viewer to achieve a higher level of general fitness and more toned figure, Anna goes through a variety of weight and other simple tools such as the stability ball and jump rope. Anna presents the action, performs the exercises, and voices the narrative, making this very much a solo project. 52 minutes.
Description of Anna Kournikova - Basic Elements: My Complete Fitness Guide:
Tennis requires strength, power, endurance, balance, and speed, and tennis star Anna Kournikova's 52-minute workout, aimed at experienced athletes, emphasizes these fitness elements. Kournikova warms up by jumping rope, including one-footed hopping and speed jumping. Then she trains muscle endurance with 15 to 20 repetitions of varied lower- and upper-body exercises using dumbbells and a stability ball. Next a partner joins her for the medicine ball segment, including overhead throw, side toss, power drop, and other power moves. She then trains for speed and agility with high-knee sprints, lateral shuffles, and a variety of cone sprints (you won't be able to do these in your living room). Finally she challenges your anaerobic endurance with plyometric (explosive power) moves like jumping boxes and speed stepping. This video is recommended for serious athletes looking to improve their sports performance and all-around fitness. This is definitely not for the beginner or casual exerciser. --Joan Price
Anna Kournikova - Basic Elements: My Complete Fitness Guide Reviews:
Review
2007-11-21 - Anna came into my living room the other day. (Must have been between tennis games). She left without asking me if I was busy that evening.
She did some really nice workouts. Workouts were very professional. (I am only interested in her workout for professional reasons.) If you believe that, then you believe I only read the articles in adult magazines.
How great is america
2003-02-18 - Anna K is sooo hot. There is nothing better then just sitting down once in a while and watching this video. If your feeling down and out with what your life is all about, pop this video in and you'll feel better. It was cool
Big Truck
Good athletic development dvd, but takes a lot of equipment
2002-02-10 - It's a great dvd for if you are trying to develop for a sport. She really shows exercises that she does for tennis. This was a pleasant surprise as I thought they'd just put together a workout and stick her in there to have people buy it.
The big negative I had, was, when buying it, there was nothing to indicate on the case that you would need all that equipment and a partner. You need a medicine ball, orange cones, a big powerball, hand weights, bands for your ankles, a giant grid for the floor, a step, and etc. I wish they would have had the tennis clips etc. on an optional separate part of the dvd. If you just want to do the work out, you have to sit through that.
I like it, because it's geared towards improving athleticism as opposed to just sculpting muscles.
The Best DVD Ever
2002-02-01 - I'd give this more stars if I could. The only thing missing is the brass pole.
Good video, if you don't want to work out with it
2002-01-26 - I really like this video. It is the type of video that you need to watch, jot down the exercises, and do them else where. This is not a "work out with Anna" video. It is geared towards active people who need exercises to elevate their level of fitness. You should not buy this video if you intend to do it in your apartment. Nor is it a video for beginners.
The music is not too bad. It is bearable. The workouts are clear, concise, and more importantly good. If you are a tennis player, or an active person, this will help you out a lot. Oh and if you are just a male Anna fan you will like the video, too.
