Editorial Review:
Teen life is full of mysteries, but nothing is more hilarious or more fun than Weird Science, the out-of-this-world comedy that helped define a generation! Join two socially challenged computer whizzes (Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith) as they set out to create the “perfect woman” (supermodel Kelly LeBrock). Like a computer-generated fairy godmother, the duo’s heavenly creation guides the pair through the pleasures and pitfalls of teenage life. From writer/director John Hughes (The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles), Weird Science: Flashback Edition is digitally remastered and includes all-new bonus features and is ready for re-discovery all over again!
Description of Weird Science (Flashback Edition):
Yes, that is Bill Paxton as Ilan Mitchell-Smith's militaristic big brother. And that's Robert Downey Jr. as one of the in-crowd jerks who makes nerds Mitchell-Smith and Hall's lives miserable. Fortunately, this is a John Hughes comedy and our smart nerds create the perfect woman, Lisa (Kelly LeBrock), using a computer and voodoo. Lisa is a willing sex toy, has magical powers, and just wants to help the boys get even and meet nice babes. She even cleans up. The fantasy ebullience of Hughes is given full rein here and that's good and bad (mostly good). It's all aimed at a certain kind of hormone-addled, 16-year-old sensibility; but who doesn't have a little bit of that in them? --Keith Simanton
Weird Science (Flashback Edition) Reviews:
Well-intentioned but not great
2009-10-30 - The Bottom Line:
One of those 80s teen films that was never really that good in the first place but people all pretend is a classic, Weird Science is a film designed for 12 year old boys (and I don't mean that pejoratively) who will no doubt find its wish-fulfillment-loaded plot interesting instead of rather juvenile; parts of the movie are cute and made me fondly remember the days where seeing the naked female form and impressing kids in school were numbers 1 and 2 on my priority list, but nostalgia aside the film is rather mediocre.
2.5/4

2009-09-22 - Almost forgotten this great flick! The move quality and condition was as advertised. This movie still makes me laugh as I was 16 and still in high school.
Wierd Science review
2009-07-20 - I hadn't seen this flick in almost 20 years. I loved it then, and love it now. It's funny. It sets out to do what John Hugh's wanted to do -- entertain and make you laugh. I bought this simply because I am adding all the big 80's movies to my collection. This has some of the most memorable quotes from any of the 80's flicks. And has one of Bill Paxton's most remembered roles.
A satisfied customer!!
2009-06-29 - My item arrived in excellent condition as was described by the seller. It was well packed in bubble wrap and came in a box instead of a flimsy shipping envelope.I will certainly recommend this seller and shop this seller in the future! Thanks!

2009-03-23 - I purchased this product online with confidence as I had ordered from Amazon in the past when I lived in Georgia. However I will never order again.... This product was ordered in good faith, as being a new DVD. It was most certainly not. The DVD was SCRATCHED, AND HAD FINGER PRINTS ALL OVER IT AND SOMETHING STICKY... ALSO AFTER THIS PURCHASE MY CARD NUMBER WAS STOLEN AND THIS IS THE ONLY PURCHASE EVER MADE ON LINE AND THE BANK TRACED IN BACK TO THIS PURCHASE. MY CARD WAS DUPLICATED AND SOMEONE TRIED TO USE IT IN WEST HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA. I also didn't like the fact that this product was probably sold from a local person as everything was handwritten and the return address was just a few miles away. Now I'm concerned that did they not only steal my bank # but they also have my local address...
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT YOU ALLOW PEOPLE LIKE THAT TO REPRESENT YOUR GOOD NAME.
Sincerely, No longer an Amazon Customer...
