Editorial Review:
Montreal's Arcade Fire brings a theatricality, an intensity, an insanity, and a penchant for amazing hooks to their debut full-length. You've never heard such energy, beauty, and emotion from such a young band. Fans of Neutral Milk Hotel, Broken Social Scene, and Roxy Music's first two albums will have a new favorite band.
Funeral Reviews:
Mindblowing, Fantastical, Ultimately the best I have head........ever. Staight Up.
2009-11-26 - This is the first review I have ever written on amazon and it might be the last. I have listened to many albums and I have been captivated by some very special albums that seem to capture my very soul. This album ladies and gentleman is one of them. I borrowed this album from a close friend who said one thing to me before he handed me the album..." Listen to the entire album 3 times". Fate has it that it sat on my cd stand for 3 years. Last month I decided to give it a spin and needless to say I have been hooked. I have no words for how great, how awesome this album truly is. It would be a crime against your ears, a crime against man, a crime against your soul not to hear this.
Please I beg you, hear me and listen to me very closely. This is the the best album I have ever heard since OK Computer. Better that Stankonia. Better that Kid A. Better that Stop Making Sense. I kid you not. I was completely sucked in by the emotion that was infused into every melody, its almost heartbeaking. The peaks and valley are truly awe inspiring and leave you breathless at every turn. I don't know when the I was going to find my Beetles, my Weezer, My Nivana.... but I have arrived and the destinations name is my "Funeral"
I have heard their live show is even better than the album and if that is the case then be prepared to crown the new "greatest band in the world". I will be at the throne, bowing gracefully to the new kinds of rock. Not even Jesus can stop the Arcade Fire now.

Successor to the Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson
2009-09-28 - This band is best compared to Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The mayhem that can come across in their music is only comparable to the Beatles. Re-listen to the White Album or Abbey Road for the musical touchstones. Yet, they play as a group, each with a valuable contribution to make. [...]. Asked where the name Arcade Fire came from, the answer is a mere rumor that a college arcade burned down. [...]
Rock on Arcade Fire, may you stay away from drugs, the death knell of all other great artists, and long may you reign as the new kings and queens of music. [...]
If you have ever been in a school band you can truly appreciate how they operate fully as a musical group with a great front man and woman. Every person is into the performance and it rivals the Beatles. I swear, listen to a Beatles record. The writing is just as great too. I never would have imagined that such a group would come into existence because of all the continual BS in the music industry. I thought it might be John Lennon back for another go, except Win was born a month before John's untimely demise. Listen to them and go back to a time when music had meaning. Somebody is here again.
Put this sucker on repeat.
2009-08-20 - Amazing music, amazing band. Go and get? Yes. Better than Neon Bible, but Neon Bible is worth gtting too. If you haven't listened to arcade fire, why not?
it's one super funeral!
2009-07-08 - NOTHING ELSE TO SAY. IT MERITS A 5-STAR RATING.MAY EVEN BE BETTER THAN "NEON BIBLE"
Innovative and pleasing
2009-06-16 - This CD starts off a little scratchy but the sound quickly makes up for any taping difficulties. Great progression and harmony throughout, the band played much of this on the Austin City Limits piece in 2007 --- a simply incredible music rendition --- vividly seen in the crowds zealous enjoyment of this super indie band. Well worthwhile to own !!!
