"Dyos Bo'otik" means "thank you" in the Mayan language, and this CD is just that for Ashanti, a Latin jazz group based in the heart of the American Midwest. The group's leader, Gabriel Espinosa, transported his musical roots from Merida, Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula to Iowa eight years ago. Since then, and because of its trademark vocal tradition, Ashanti has become one of the Midwest's most-appreciated Latin jazz combos. This CD is a musical "gracias" to family, friends, and fans.
