Editorial Review:
You'll need to pack more than your Dr. Dentons and your Barbie sleeping bag if you choose to be bunkmates with the twin titans of the kid-vid market via the purchase of their You're Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley's Sleepover Party. The first six cuts on this cute-as-a-bug collection sit right with a slumber-partygoer's sensibilities, probably because they're lifted from the twins' video of the same name: a bashful guest is persuaded to "twist like a tornado and do the mashed potato" on "Dare to Dance"; a pizza complete with guacamole, fish sticks, ketchup, egg foo young, and chicken tongue is whipped up on "Gimme Pizza"; and the inevitable bargain to stay up all night and "paint faces, make up funny names," and dabble in "a zillion cool video games" is struck in "Pullin' an All Nighter." On tracks 7 through 14, though, the sleepover's whereabouts become sketchy--"Step Right Up" and "Mummies Have Mommies Too" take place in a fun house (they're from The Case of the Mystery Fun House video), and those who RSVP'd in the affirmative are also shuttled off to the beach ("Wild, Wet, Wacky Wonderful World" and "Sand, Sand, Glorious Sand"), a hotel ("Why Can't We Live in a Hotel All the Time?"), and subjected to an insufferable heat wave ("Stayin' Cool"). Still, Sleepover Party delivers ample doses of adventure and its adorable hosts couldn't be more companionable. An excellent bet for beating the 7- to 10-year-old blahs. --Tammy La Gorce

101 Ways to Recycle Your Own Music
2007-07-22 - This disc does have some strong points...namely any tracks included that came off their mystery series videos and anything that's not the first Party Series installment. I'm a little biased because way back when I was never a huge fan of the party series...that being said, the first installment of that series, to be polite, was a bit more than mediocre. I finished it wondering what they were on when they decided to green light that one. The songs aren't nearly as good as anything they did earlier at the time. The best was everything John Forster ever wrote for Mary-Kate and Ashley. Outside of Forster's writing, there were some good songs but most of this CD's songs that do come from the first Party series installment sounded like someone drank a whole bunch of Mountain Dew and shot their hands up with novacaine before sitting to "write" at his/her piano. What were they THINKING?!?!?! There are compilations that have the songs on the Beach Party, Hotel Who-Done-It and Case of the Funhouse Mystery videos. Namely the Mary-Kate and Ashley Greatest Hits stuff. Buy those. In addition to those highlighted songs, you'll also get some more of the even better stuff off Give Us A Mystery, The Mystery on the High Seas videos (Case of the Sea World Adventure and Case of the Mystery Cruise viewed together) and I Am The Cute One.
go mary-kate and ashley 3!!

You're Inivted to Mary-Kate and Ashley's Sleep Over Party
2003-11-12 - Oh, man! I can listen to this CD over and over again. I don't like swome of the songs Gimme Pizza, Step Right Up and Munnies Have Mommies Too. I love the rest of the songs. I have this CD. I bought it from Best Bouy not Borders bookstores.
Great music!
2003-02-16 - These songs are great! Marykate and Ashely sing songs about everything when they have there sleepover. " Dare To Dance" was great and so was " Video Monster" where they play video games. Then they sing about the beach in " Sand Glorious Sand" and " I would rather be Surfing". I love this CD and the olsen twins are great singers!
Lousy
2000-09-12 - Mary-Kate and Ashley are cute and they do have talent. They just aren't singers. This CD stinks. Tired surfing cliche is not cute coming out of them. They are too old to pass that one off. The songs are all infantile and stupid. These kids are way past this stage and they can do better things with their time instead of stupid stuff like this.
