A high school girl is invited to a party by the most popular boy in school -- only trouble is, she's grounded!

    Description of Picture This!:
Technology is the way of the future and every high school student needs a video phone, at least according to Mandy (Ashley Tisdale) and her friends Alexa (Lauren Collins) and Cayenne (Shenae Grimes). When Mandy's overprotective Dad (Kevin Pollak) finally gives her a video phone and a pair of contacts for her 18th birthday, Mandy feels like her image, and her entire world, is about to change for the better--especially when her long-lived crush Drew Patterson (Robbie Amell) actually notices her. What Mandy doesn't count on is that her father will use her new phone to track her every move and that Drew's attention will inspire Lisa (Cindy Busby), the hottest, most popular girl in school, to begin plotting against Mandy with a vengeance. A full 90 minutes of serious attitude, technological obsession, deception, and just plain meanness, this film appeals primarily to the preteen and teen audience and manages to convey the message that goodness and trust will prevail despite enormous odds. Parents will most likely find the film distasteful, though they could potentially learn something about letting go, and it should be noted that there are a fair number of sexual references like "hump and dump," virgins being "deflowered," and "do her and dump her." Look for Ashley Tisdale's "Shadow of the Night" performance as well as 2 bonus making of segments, cell phone confessions, text commentary, and a trivia quiz. (Ages 11 and older) --Tami Horiuchi

2009-10-26 - This movie is extremely good, it changes Ashley to higher level to PG-13 and displays her as a sensitive shy girl who struggles hard to achieve her goal with a lot of effort and problems she had face and overcoming the cruel vicious girls. So i really enjoyed the movie so i give it 5.And the pool scene was the best and the song was gr8 "Shadows Of The Night".I have bought the DVD and watched the movie twice with my family and friends and i really enjoyed it even wathching it again it was nice to see ash with new cast and crew i like all of u to buy the DVD those of don't have Abc channel the next premier is in august so catch it and enjoy the movie plus buy the DVD too!!!

    Disappointed 1 Star Review
2009-07-10 - My children and I are huge Ashley Tisdale fans but we were really disappointed with this movie. It was predictable and Ashley played a sweet girl but acted spoilt. Would not have wasted my money on it if I'd known.

My daughters enjoyed this movie 4 Star Review
2009-07-06 - cute movie, with laughs. Needs to be followed with parent conversation about following rules and deceit.

    great movie!!!! 5 Star Review
2008-12-27 - this is a really good movie. i would say like other people that this is a typical teenage disney movie except that this is pg-13 but in a way it isn't. this talks about an unpopular girl that wants to be popular but she doesn't try to fit in(which in a lot of disney movies they do that. they try to fit in and everything)but mandy stays real and she's herself throughout the whole movie. it's also different because at the end her father kind of found out but he didn't do anything about it because he thought is was time for him to let go and mandy did the right thing by going back home. this is also like other a typical cinderella movie because this is about an unpopular girl that likes a cute guy. one of my favorite parts was when everyone pretended to be like a dvd. my point is that this is a really good movie, this is just like a typical teenage movie but it's a little different and it's very enjoyable for everyone 12 and up

The is nothing to not love about this movie (it was just AWESOME)! 5 Star Review
2008-12-06 - I rented this movie expecting just another average teenage comedy, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well the actors/actresses played in the movie and lived up to the plot. The movie is basically about a girl named Mandy (Ashley Tisdale) who is not very popular in school and who is trying to date Drew Patterson (Robbie Amell).

The plan is to attend a big party to which Drew invites her to, but unfortunately as luck would have it she is GROUNDED by her dad for breaking some rules. She later convinces him that she is only going to go to "study" with her 2 other friends, but he insists in a BIG BROTHER way that she must check in every 30 minutes via video cell phone on how everything is going. That is when the real fun starts and things start to get real crazy! Mandy must do crazy things every 30 mins to try and make her dad believe she is actually at her friends house studying. The scariest part of the movie was when she is driving and her dad asks her "is that a horn I hear" and insists on showing him what she is doing. She takes the keys out of the ignition on a busy road covers her eyes while her friends steer the car. I don't recommend this at home, and it almost getting all three of them killed by nearly hitting a truck head on.

There are a lot more crazy things Mandy does to try and fake where she is. You will have to watch the movie to see if her dad finds out what she and her friends did and bust her. I don't want to spoil the fun.

I definitely recommend this movie to everyone. It is a funny as heck down to earth romantic comedy!
