Editorial Review:
Xavier is back! we find him 5 years after lauberge espagnole - he is now 30 years old. His career & his romantic life are equally disappoiting. A chance meeting could be the answer to both his career & love life but xaviers lack of direction (& will-power) threatens to turn his good furtune into heartbreak. Studio: Genius Products Inc Release Date: 01/23/2007 Starring: Romain Duris Kelly Reilly Run time: 129 minutes
Russian Dolls Reviews:
Even Better Than The Spanish Apartment!
2009-09-16 - Normally I don't find that a sequel to a movie is as good as the original, but this film tops the previous, excellent movie, The Spanish Apartment (L'auberge Espagnole.) The movie takes place in France, England, and Russia. From the fun music and titles at the beginning, this movie didn't cause me to look at the time once, which says a lot. Romain Duris is excellent (again,) as is the entire cast. I found one or two scenes a little slow (such as Roman Duris' character walking down a street in St. Petersburg, behind 'the ideal woman') but all in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I appreciated that there was a fair amount of english spoken in the movie, so I could focus on the acting first and then what was being said, instead of it being the other way around (as is the case when reading subtitles.) I would recommend this movie!
Russian Dolls and French and Spanish too.
2009-03-11 - Well done. The ladies(and men)in this were magnificent.Audrey Tautou is a favorite from Amelie and the DaVinci code movies. If you love foreign films this is great.I only wish I had friends or a loved one to watch it with, who can appreciate it with. This a great date movie for very opened minded or college age youth. This was as enjoyable as L'Auberge Espagnole, which was the first of the two.
Very Good Sequel
2008-11-06 - Romain Duris and Kelly Reilly have great chemistry in this sequel to L'Auberge Espangole. However, Audrey Tautou has only a brief cameo.
Amusing comedy about a guy and dirls
2008-06-15 - Entertaining comedy about a guy trying to straighten out his life but girls and get in the way and help in ways he had not planned, as in real life usually happens. Comedy is satirical and sometimes subtle.
Different from the first, yet just as enjoyable!
2008-05-25 - The movie was great, completely different type of movie than the first but just as enjoyable. Xavier has certainly matured, but at the same time keeps the movie interesting and fun.
