Obviously The B-E-S-T of Avril ~ *Smokin' Hot* 
2009-12-08 - This Hong Kong Edition features 2 discs with 5 bonus tracks on the CD and the videos [NTSC 0]* for Girlfriend, When You're Gone, Hot, and Girlfriend (Dr. Luke Remix feat. Lil Mama) and the live performances [Orange Lounge] Everything Back But You, Girlfriend, Hot, and When You're Gone. Compared to Avril Lavigne's other albums this one has faster paced beats, more rock sounds, and much more hype. This is rebellious punk meshed with pop and heavier rock 'n' roll blends. Avril's talent becomes quite sparkling with stars as the cover as she has exploded into a super star pheonomenon.
The first bonus track ALONE is also in the Japanese Edition Best Damn Thing and has nice fast paced styles along laid back meshes of punk, grunge and more. This type of song style would have been nice to hear more of. The beats pick up and take full force bangs as Avril gets her message out strong: "You're the one alone/so don't apologize you don't even realize you screwed it up this time/now you're the one alone.." This kicks a** and makes this a smashing bonus for sure.
The bonus track: I WILL BE is a beautiful ballad bringing positive vibes about turning around and being everything the other wants. It's appreciating, valuing, and cherishing that special someone. The melody is with rock elements, guitars, and Avril bringing her signature drama on the forefront. It's a great extra track.
I CAN DO BETTER ACOUSTIC bonus track has a sharper sound with Avril's vocals being much clearer, easier to understand and enjoy. It's one of those songs to feel great after a lover or person dumps you or leaves you. It's a "get out of my face" attitude with references to "I can do better..." The guitar sounds great along her singing--definitely fabulous bonus track.
GIRLFRIEND MANDARIN VERSION is the same as the hit song Girlfriend but with Chinese Manderin interludes. This has edited bad words on mother f***ing princess but the Manderin sounds wicked, *wild* and definitely punk friendly. The drums paced fast along the extra vocals are sensational.
GIRLFRIEND DR LUKE REMIX FEAT. LIL MAMA has the rap by Lil Mama along much more rapid beats definitely accelarated to get anybody's juices flowing for more--definitely contagious!!
Aside the bonus tracks, all the songs offer a great array of themes geared to the single person, couple, or *wild* child. There are references to I'm the one with the pants on [one of my favorites], mentionings of the "other girl" being notoriously bad for the guy, empowering tracks like I CAN DO BETTER, and a few ballads and positive songs like INNOCENCE and WHEN YOU'RE GONE. I found the aggressive "under attack" songs with extremely fast paced styles to be my top choices since slow songs and slow tempos bore me. This is super recommended for music listeners who need a quick fix of fast energetic rock/pop/punk styles!
While the mystery behind Avril Lavigne comes uncovered as being a rock chic with some wild streaks the fire crackers have now sparkled and ignited! This is definitely a stepping-stone for a bursting, explosion of more to come! And this album for sure is the b*e*s*t damn thing!
*NTSC 0--is viewable in the United States. The videos include a menu and the performances are from Orange Lounge. The censoring is minimal and barely noticeable in a few of the songs.
Avril Lavigne rocks 
2008-07-07 - I bought this cd after seeing her live. She improved a lot her voice, the concert was good and I hope she will come back to the darker lyrics and sound of the previous Under This Skin album.
By the way this product is well done and deserves 4 stars on my opinion.
Beautiful Limited Edition from Hong Kong!!!!!!!!
2007-12-08 - Finally released after months of anticipation, this awesome special edition of Avril Lavigne's The Best Damn Thing is notable for the following:
- The CD/DVD jewel case is enclosed in a cardboard package measuring 10.25" x 10.25" and includes a 20" x 30" folded poster.
- The main 12 tracks are from the censored album version.
- The beautiful ballad "I Will Be" is finally on CD, along with the other incredible single "Alone". These two fantastic songs should have been on the original album version from day one!
- "I Can Do Better" (acoustic bonus track) is the only applicable audio track that is _not_ censored.
- The bonus NTSC DVD includes the four song Orange Lounge performance from summer 2007, in gorgeous 16 x 9 widescreen compatible format. "Girlfriend" is _not_ censored.
- The four music videos are not 16 x 9 widescreen compatible, although "When You're Gone" and "Girlfriend" with Lil Mama should have been. The original "Girlfriend" and "Hot" were not shot (or released) in 16 x 9, so that doesn't apply for those two.
All in all, this is a terrific collector's item for any Avril fan!!!
