Editorial Review:
Special Edition includes a bonus DVD with six live songs recorded in London along with the music video to the lead off single, 'Straight Through My Heart'. This Is Us is the seventh studio album from The Backstreet Boys. Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and AJ McLean collaborated with a powerhouse suite of producers and songwriters, including T-Pain, Max Martin, RedOne (Lady GaGa's 'Just Dance' and 'Poker Face'), Soulshock and Karlin, Jim Jonsin ((Lil Wayne's 'Lollipop', T.I.'s 'Whatever You Like'), Brian Kennedy (Rihanna's 'Disturbia', Chris Brown's 'Forever', Jennifer Hudson), and Claude Kelly (co-writer Britney 'Circus' and Kelly Clarkson's 'My Life Would Suck Without You'). Sony. 2009.
This Is Us: Special Edition (Incl. Bonus DVD) Reviews:
If you love classic BSB's R&B/Pop sound you'll love this new cd
2009-11-27 - THIS IS US is a great record from start to finish. It has 12 great tracks that sound a lot like how BSB used to sound back in the 90's with some 2009 updates. THIS IS US is a dance record with a couple of great slow ballad type songs. My favorite tracks were ALL OF YOUR LIFE, BIGGER, STRAIGHT THROUGH MY HEART, THIS IS US, MASQUERADE and UNDONE. The bonus DVD is also a plus. The DVD has a lot of great HQ footage of BSB during their UNBREAKABLE tour in 2008 and the STMH music video.
THIS IS US, the best BSB album since MILLENNIUM.
GREAT GREAT GREAT CD!!!
2009-11-26 - Backstreet Boys are so great in this new cd. I Love that, VERYY VERY GOOD!!!!!!!!

This is Us is amazing!!!
2009-11-21 - This CD rocks!!! Most of the songs, such as Masquerade, are excellent to play at parties!!! Boys and grils, men and women, fans and not fans of the Backstreet Boys are going to enjoy it!
Backstreet boys rocks
2009-11-03 - This album is the bomb I saw them when they were doing the Kristi Yamgouhi show and they were great I hope that they came to Arizona so I can see them in concert. I love this album. They are really good even though they don't have Kevin they sound great
More like "This is (Not) Us"
2009-10-24 - I grew up listening to the Backstreet Boys and have remained a fan through all of these years because of the strength of songwriting, vocal talent and the good nature of all of the members. I'm sorry to say, I was HIGHLY disappointed with this release. They sold out their signature sound to sound just like everything else that's on top 40 radio right now. It would be one thing if they were *evolving* ... GROWING. This is not evolution. The only real Backstreet Boys song on this record is "Bigger" ... and may I note that one of the writers on that song is Max Martin (this is the only Max Martin song on the entire record), who was behind previous BSB hits (majorly behind the 13x multi platinum (= 13 MILLION) certified record Millennium. I really hope this isn't an indicator of their future releases and is just a hiccup in a run of quality releases. I had found it curious that I forgot that their record came out initially because I didn't hear any support from radio, nor retail ads, when there were for Unbreakable. Now I know why.
