Barry White Sings for Someone You Love Reviews:
Very Good CD 5 Star Review
2009-10-30 - This Cd brought back some good memories. I always been a big fan of Barry White and I enjoy listening to all his music my favorite is "You Turn My Whole World Around". The entire Cd is great and I would suggest it to my friends and family. Enjoy the old school sounds. Peace

For the younger crowd 5 Star Review
2009-07-10 - Let me begin by saying I was one year old when this album released. Unlike other reviewers, the only version I own is the mp3 version. I purchased this album on a daily deal and it quickly rose to the top in my collection. The younger crowd will recognize many beats used in hip-hop and rap. I have owned Barry White's Greatest Hits and I believe that this is an album which has great flow, longer songs, deep cuts, and a consistently sexy 70s feel throughout. Buy it!!

Sheer pleasure remembering... 5 Star Review
2008-12-16 - ... treasured moments lived in the portuguese atlantic summers of the late 70's, and beyond, where love was either discover and youth blessings, many times with this BW fantastic soundtrack in the (love) scenario.
For me, one of those albuns (yes, I have the original portuguese vinyl pressing)to carry to that island...WITH SOMEONE YOU (REALLY) LOVE.
Everytime I hear it I'm longing of those fantastic times, driving "dangerous" cars, smoking, breathing the air, not asking for induced brands of sophisticated waters...and last but not the least, remembering some of the girls/women I've honored to be loved by.
Thanks Man.

Flowers, candy, and Barry White! They'll work every time! 5 Star Review
2005-11-19 - Unbeknowst to me at the time of the album's release, it came with a choice of two covers: a dark sable fur picture or a lighter-colored one (I got the former). In addition to the respective covers, the "locket" on the cover was removable, allowing the purchaser to insert a photo of himself/herself or his/her beloved.

Oh, the 70's was so thematic!!!

That said, the music is typical White: luscious strings, catchy "bedroom" lyrics, and Barry's unmistakable and alluring bass, perfectly suited for any romantic interlude. The two charttoppers are "Playing Your Game" and "It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me"; however, the best track is the last one: "Of All the Guys in the World," a song that needs no explanation in expressing how lucky the singer/giver feels to be a part of the listener's/receiver's life.

White always knew the right chords, musically and lyrically, to strike when expressing romanticism at its best.

The Maestro at his best in a while! 5 Star Review
2005-03-06 - The quality of BW's albums had come into serious doubt by 1976.This album and the album that came after it,"The Man", show BW at his best since "I've Got So Much To Give".This album has it all.It starts out with "Playing Your Game,Baby" and goes directly into "It's Ecstacy"."You're So Good,You're Bad","I Never Thought I'd Fall In Love You" and a classic BW slow jam in "You Turned My Whole World Around".Add the all-time BW standard "Oh What A Night For Dancing" and you have a classic BW album!

A 200% quality effort that this generation shouldn't just sample, they should use as a textbook on how to make a GOOD album.
