Editorial Review:
2008 repressing of the four CD edition of this excellent box set from the late great Soul artist. The first three CDs contain an excellent overview of his career, filled with hits, album tracks and delectable bits of Soul/Slow Jam heaven. The fouth CD features three updated mixes of 'Let The Music Play'. A most excellent way to remember the musical legend. 43 tracks including 'Love's Theme', 'Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up', 'You're The First, The Last, My Everything', 'I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little More Baby' and more. Universal.

Description of Just for You:
Putting together a comprehensive boxed set for an artist such as Barry White--whose multifaceted recording career extends across several decades--is a daunting task, especially considering that the man with the instantly recognizable, unmistakable voice has racked up nearly 50 hit singles in his capacity as a recording artist. Add to that his work as the creator and mastermind of the vocal trio Love Unlimited and the Love Unlimited Orchestra and the notion of a collection that's truly representative of this contemporary pop and soul legend seems nigh on impossible.

Fortunately, the compilers of this three-CD set succeeded in capturing all of White's major hits--from his first chart entry (1973's "I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More Baby") to "Dark and Lovely," a 1992 duet with fellow deep-voiced lover man Isaac Hayes--as well as selections from the Orchestra (including 1973's unforgettable "Love Theme") and the trio ("Walkin' in the Rain with the One I Love"), giving a complete musical picture of White, the singer, producer, and writer. The addition of a previously unreleased track ("Love's Beginning") and the essential "Secret Garden" (from Quincy Jones's 1990 set, Back on the Block) make this the definitive Barry White collection. --David Nathan

Just for You Reviews:
The epitome of sensual soul! 5 Star Review
2009-11-24 - No one expressed the art of intimacy and love making in their music more than Barry White. Very few could touch this man in that particular arena. He exuded it in every sense of the word. If there was something a man wanted to express to a lady he really dug and didn't have the courage to express it, then just put on a Barry White song and there you are. Mr. White would do it for you. This box set is a must have, especially if there is no Barry White in one's collection. "Let The Music Play On."

A Not-to-be-missed Collection!! 5 Star Review
2009-03-26 - I can't believe it is almost six years [!] since the Maestro left us.

In the mean time, if you want or need just ONE Barry White collection (and ALL of his albums are worth owning - I should know), eschew all others and go straight for the box set "Just For You". Not only will you get all the radio hits you love (in their LOOOOONG versions), but you'll also get a great cross-section of his best album cuts, such as "I Found Someone", and "Love Serenade" (which SHOULD have been here in its seven minute extended edit from the original "Greatest Hits" album, but just Part One gets the point across), as well as some great latter day duets and the "Secret Garden - Sweet Seduction Suite" from Quincy Jones' "Back On the Block".

The Maestro is no longer with us, but his music will live on, I pray that future generations will latch onto the fact that this immense talent is so much more than the sum of what's played on oldies radio. And screw the price tag, this can be gotten cheaper - shop around and BUY IT!!!!!

Remember sex? This brings it all back. 4 Star Review
2007-12-06 - Listening to Barry White is not quite like being young again. But if your memory is still working, these songs will bring it all back. At least in your mind. Just wonderful.

You can't go wrong with this item 5 Star Review
2007-09-30 - I purchased this boxset on cassette many years ago. I am looking to replace my cassettes with CD. I must say the CD's are better quality. I love Barry White. The songs that were chosen, someone knew what they were doing. A majority of his many brillant songs are on this boxset. Buy it!

How Ironic 5 Star Review
2007-04-25 - I bought this box set for $37 dollars at Tower Records (no longer in existence) a week after he died, and it was well worth it. "Beware", "Just the Way You Are", and "Walking In the Rain With the One I Love" stand out for me, and I'll always treasure Barry White for what he's done for me and what he's greatly contributed to music.
