  • Editorial Review:
Almost forty years after John F. Kennedy's assassination, an ex-Marine named Walter Ohlinger has come forward with a startling claim: I was in Dallas on November 22, 1963. Does that mean anything to you? I've never told anyone this before; no one knows . . . I was the second gunman behind the stockade fence on what they called the grassy knoll. I fired one shot from there. Shedding new light on the most well known murder mystery of the 20th century, this masterful thriller will keep you second-guessing right up to the last frame.

Description of Interview With the Assassin:
Bringing the Blair Witch method to the JFK assassination, Interview with the Assassin has an irresistible hook. A videographer begins filming his lean, hard-bitten neighbor, who has cancer and wants to get something off his conscience: he was the second gunman in Dallas on November 22, 1963. As the filmmaker pursues the story, it gradually dawns on him that the original conspiracy of silence is still operating... and that his own life may be in danger. First-time director Mel Burger sticks to the pseudo-documentary approach--no cheating here--and when the purported hit man strolls through some back streets in Dallas to re-visit his position on the grassy knoll, it's a truly eerie moment. Veteran character actor Raymond Barry makes the most of his role as the gunman, a laconic fellow with a chillingly matter-of-fact manner. The movie's concept may be a gimmick, but as gimmicks go, it's a humdinger. --Robert Horton

    Interview With the Assassin Reviews:
NOT AN ATTEMPT TO EXPLAIN THE JFK ASSASSINATION 5 Star Review
2009-08-10 - The only reason I'm posting this 5 star review is to balance out GEORGE FISHER'S one star review which Amazon mistakenly posted TWICE.

But this is a great suspense film for people looking for something different.

Chilling Conspiracy Theory Tale is a Winner 3 Star Review
2008-03-31 - This is a terrific little one gag thriller, the central conceit being that an out of work camerman lives next door to the real assassin who shot JFK and now wants his 15 minutes. This slight idea is milked for maximum effect by director Burger and his cast.

Raymond J Barry is the real reason to see this movie. His steely, quitely spoken malevolence makes him one seriously scary and disturbed character-your in no doubt he's capable of taking down a President.

Barry's been doing stirling work in supporting roles for years. His other memorable bad guy is in the otherwise woeful 'The Chamber'-he's truly chilling as the unrepentant white supremacist. He also made a strong impression as Robert Duvall's boss in 'Falling Down'.

    Highly recommended.

A movie for idiots! 1 Star Review
2007-08-25 - Only a total moron would believe that this is a genuine interview. Anyone who believes that Oswald was just an innocent "patsy" lacks common sense, or is totally ignorant of the FACTS regarding the JFK shooting.

Different & Gritty 4 Star Review
2006-02-04 - You have not seen this before. A pseudo-documentary hooks you and drags you where you doubted you could be taken. Well done. You'll go research Raymond J. Barry

    Boring 1 Star Review
2005-12-20 - The Blair Witch Project meets the Kennedy conspiracy. In a word - boring. Take it for what it is: a low budget movie with an interesting concept but a lame movie nonetheless. The "surprise" ending wasn't that great and didn't have me on the edge of my seat.
