Editorial Review:
A tribute to John Lennon, as seen through the eyes of one fan, following John's footsteps from his birth in Liverpool, onto London, with the Beatles onto the world, and then onto his tragic death in New York City. The book is illustrated with art and with evacative photographs near and around the Dakota and Central Park by the author. The 'letters' are written in the form of terse verse. There are interactive pages where the reader can (but is not required to) insert their own comments, stories, thoughts, art, photos or memorabilia about John Lennon. Each book becomes a unique stand alone edition, wherein the reader can finish the creative process begun by the author. This book is a must have for all John Lennon fans and makes a great gift book for the holidays, or anytime. A library edition is in the works (where the reader may not make any entries). In addition, the author is preparing a new work about John Lennon, with several editions, in which more fans and friends will be included and is actively seeking additional submissions. She maybe contacted at WriterMyst@aol.com. The new edition will have an introduction by Sid Bernstein, famed agent to the stars and the man who is responsible to bringing the Beatles to the USA. The new book will come with a CD and or DVD. Samples of the videos can be seen on YouTube, by going to the user, Katchka1. Musicians and actors and other artists who wish to contribute to the CD or DVD may contact the author at WriterMyst@aol, for further information.
Dear John: Letters From a Fan in New York City: An Interactive Book Reviews:
A 27 year old flood of emotion returns
2007-07-26 - After my chance meeting with the author on her YouTube channel Katchka1, I bought the book and was instantly filled with the joy and sadness that is John Lennon in my heart. After being a devoted fan of the Beatles and especially John Lennon since I was 8 years old in February 1964, I was completely devastated by his murder and I don't think I'll ever truly get over it. This book from a stranger says to me..."I'm with you and I KNOW how you felt and still feel". The author, Judith Furedi, and I share the same best friend and big brother we never knew.
A John Lennon-Inspired Scrapbook
2006-01-28 - If you loved John Lennon and the Beatles, this book is for you. It is many books in one: a poetry tribute, a journal, a John-Lennon inspired scrapbook, an object of art, an artistic table-top book, a book for collectors to display and to share. You may even use this book as your personal diary, to add your own art or writing, or to jot down daily notes, ideas or appointments. Whatever pleases you! Ms. Furedi's book will help you remember John's spirit while allowing you to nourish your own creativity and document your own activities.
Makes you feel like John's spirit is with you
2006-01-19 - This is such a beautiful, intimate book! It moves with grace and makes John's life and presence so vivid! You can read the book over and over to give you a sense of healing and closeness to John. I love the interactive part that brings out your inner artist. That's sooo John!
Beautiful... Brilliant...Unique...It Made Me Cry
2003-09-27 - Judith Furedi's book, Dear John, has to be one of the most sensitive books I have ever seen about New York and it's lost minstrel, John Lennon. Each time I open its pages, my heart sighs again with nostalgic joy because I feel not only pain, but innocent love. It is a book to keep next to your bedside for inspiration when your soul has lost track of its wistful dreams.
Dear John - A Work Of Truth Through Art
2003-06-02 - Judith Furedi not only captured the spirit of us all in her open and honest poetic style, she reached out and touched upon a life force that John Lennon exuded and which can still be felt now 23 years later.
Dear John: Letters From A Fan In NYC, is one of those books that affects positive change from within. It is powerful. It is truth. It is........really real.
Kudos and thanks to Judith for her honesty and her artistry.
