Muzak, pure and simple 
2009-12-07 - This is ISN'T classical music...this is MUZAK folks. Maybe the arrangements are a cut or two above the one's usually heard with elevator music, but it is still elevator music...and the fact that the cello section of one of the world's great orchestras doesn't change that.
Really sad that cello teachers would recommend this dreck to their students.

2009-06-06 - I love this CD for the different cello tones that it brings in. If you like the sound of celli then this is a great CD. I'm not a Beatle fanatic so any differences from the orginials don't bother me. I was looking at the Boston Pops version and Beatles Songs classic style and I felt those were very elevator music style...so I just bought a second copy of Cello Submarine...my cello playing son doesn't like to share his copy. I bought the first copy on the recommendation of his cello teacher, having never heard it five years ago and I recommend it to everyone.
A Waste of Money
2009-03-14 - I purchased this cd on the recommendation of the reviews already written. I beg to differ. I have heard better arrangements of Beatles tunes on elevators. The arrangements wavered between trite and downright maudlin. The tempos were dirge-like. The album was a complete bore.I know an 85 year old concert cellist who plays with verve, respect for the music, life, excitement and conviction, all attributes not to be found among these cellists, at least not on this album. I suppose if one wanted a cd for background music in one's restaurant this might be worthwhile.
Great for cello students
2008-12-28 - Highly recommend this CD. It was recommended to us by our cello teacher and my 6 year old son truly enjoys it!

2008-07-16 - This is a great CD that fully lived up to my expectations, and maybe even exceeded them. A lot of fun for fans of the Beatles and/or classical music.
