The Beatles Yesterday and Today [Import] [Japanese] Reviews:
Muzak to my ears
2009-12-15 - I'm in full agreement with the other reviwer, "not for Audiophiles". The sound quality of this CD is pathetically awful! You will hear the Fab Four as you've never heard them before (except on a poorly made bootleg). I don't know that I agree that this is a "needledrop". I think a vinyl to disc transfer would have had better sound quality. For those of us who grew up with this album on vinyl and must have it on CD...you might want to opt for one of the other ones out there. This one is like fingernails on a chalkboard!
Not for the Audiophile
2009-12-09 - I bought this when it was first released. I had high expectations for the sound, but the sticker on the lower right hand corner reveals a lot. It is a needledrop - meaning the sound was taken from an old record and transferred to CD. And it sounds horrible. Whoever did this obviously did not know what he or she was doing. This is surprising considering that most Japanese products have superior sound quality. Pass on this and choose one of the other available versions.
