The Very Best of the Ed Sullivan Show: Unforgettable Performances Volume 1 Reviews:
it's a walk down memory lane
2009-10-30 - I purchased volumes 1 & 2 for my brother who was turning 50. He said it was the best gift he had received in years. He absolutely loved watching the bands of his youth and has watched them many times over (not to mention the delight in torturing his 15 year old daughter). The audio's not bad, the filming is somewhat cut up....but it's better to see something of these past performers than nothing at all. My husband is also 50 (I am 45) and we bought the set for ourselves too. Fun to watch, especially if having a party or friends over.
Happy will return to buy again
2009-09-12 - I was happy with the fast deliver and the DVD I will shop with this person agian Thanks
Ed Sullivan Fan in 1960s
2009-06-26 - I bought the DVD last September 2008. I saw the Jackson 5 which cute Michael Jackson when he was 10 years old or less with purple hat.
Could Have Been Much Better
2009-05-12 - I have to agree with a few other reviews here. Most performances are not seen in their entirety. You just starting getting into an act, and it abruptly changes to the next clip, very annoying. I still give it 3 stars, because there does not seem to be a better release out there, and it does provide a great trip down memory lane. Hopefully some company will do this show justice and release a series of Best of compilations with better editing and smoother transitions. Perhaps, one day, we will be able to download entire shows from Amazon that we can burn to our own custom made disc's. They'd better hurry though, the customer base is dwindling.
The Nitwits
2009-04-21 - Is there a dvd of the British comedy band- the Nitwits? I know that they appeared on the Ed Sullivan show on 6/15/58. They were a featured group at the Stardust in Las Vegas for a number of years. [...]. 4/20/09
