Editorial Review:
A desperate man kidnaps a judge and plunges him into a labyrinth of fear, harrowing confrontations and eye-opening truths in this one-night journey through the violent underbelly of New York City. Beau Bridges (Â"The AgencyÂ") Â"proves to be just as versatile a director as he is an actorÂ" (Los Angeles Times) in this nerve-ripping, 90 mile-per-hour thrill-ride. Enraged by the release of his wifeÂ's murderers, David Reardon (Ron Leibman) targets John Eaton (Bridges)Â...the judge who released them due to lack of hard evidence. Kidnapping EatonÂ's wife (Julianne Phillips), Reardon demands that the judge find evidence against the killers himself...in one night! And if he is unsuccessful by dawn, Eaton and his wife will suffer the ultimate sentence!
Seven Hours to Judgment Reviews:
Justice, vengeance, madness and missed opportunities
2006-02-21 - I bought this movie because Beau Bridges is in it as well as the underappreciated Ron Leibman (still wait for his Kaz TV series to be transferred on Disc). They both have their share of the action. Bridges plays a judge who is "soft" on gangland crimes, Leibman is the husband of a victim, a survelliance systems specialist, who kidnaps the judge's wife in order to get things going. That's basically a good story, but it is not handled very well. Suspension of disbelieve is required more often than I am usually willing to conceed. The production values are good, though, and people who love Seattle will probably love this movie because their town is portrayed in different lights and from different angles, on the whole in a flattering way.
Revenge Unfilling
2001-12-08 - What is supposed to be a comment on how the justice system favors criminals while victims suffer doesn't shed a new perspective on the idea. Bridges and Moore don't have much chemistry as the married couple terrorized by Leibman, who's anguished character fails the produce the sympathy that he should have. The way the revenge is played out against Bridges' character is pretty far-fetched, too. Bridges is a good actor, but this is not a good vehicle for him.
Seven Hours to Judgement
2000-06-13 - A must see for anyone who lives in Seattle. This film takes you on a thrill packed romp from the concrete jungles of Pioneer Square, to the sub-terrainian horrors of underground Seattle. Filled with action, action and more action, this movie contains one of the most thrilling chase sequences ever filmed in Seattle's little known subway system (I won't tell if you don't)!
