Editorial Review:
2 CD+DVD set. The DVD, available exclusively in this Deluxe Edition, offers a treasury of unreleased videos, spanning the Bee Gees' entirecareer with previously unreleased television appearances, live performances, and promo videos. The Deluxe Edition comes packaged in an 8-panel softpak with a 20 page booklet and an O-Card. The Ultimate Bee Gees is a double-disc career retrospective featuring the group's many hits and chart-topping singles, performances of a selection of hit songs they wrote for others, and liner notes by Tim Rice. Tim Rice's liner notes accompanying The Ultimate Bee Gees puts the group's extravagant popularity into perspective. 'Within this package is a collection of performances and songs that very few practitioners of popular music of the past could match for quality, originality, and emotion. It's the singing, the harmonies, the arrangements, the sound, the rivalry, the love, the intelligence, the determination, but above all it's the songs.'

Ultimate Bee Gees (2CD+DVD) Reviews:
Repackaged, but still great. 5 Star Review
2009-12-17 - This great collection was released to commemorate five decades of the Brothers Gibb. Though the tracks are not in chronological order, it's still a terrific compilation of their best hits and some live performances. The first disc consists primarily of their disco and fast tempo tracks. "More Than A Woman" and "Spirits Having Flown" are album cuts and "If I Can't Have You" was a B-side. The second disc contains their ballads and/or hits from the sixties and early 70's. "Words", "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "Massachusetts", "World" and "First Of May" are in their mono versions. The DVD consists of live performances and music videos. One noteworthy omission was the video for "This Is Where I Came In" since a photo from that video appears inside the 4-sided gatefold sleeve.

Even if you've had other compilations, this compilation just for the DVD alone make this a worthy purchase. With most of their back catalog (including "Bee Gees Greatest") currently out of print this is the only place to find most of their hits and then some.

Absolutely Brilliant! 5 Star Review
2009-12-12 - Just looking at the inside design & photos set up my time machine for a journey back.
The choices for the tracks was genius & the DVD a marvelous added joy!
A MUST have for any BeeGees fan.

Excellent 5 Star Review
2009-12-08 - 2 CD`s plus a DVD by The Bee Gees, so what do you expect? I heard both cd`s and watched the DVD, and there`s only one word to describe it all.....Excellent. Being in the music business for 50 years is not a joke, and The Bee Gees gave us lovely songs that are everlasting; they changed the face of music; had one hit after another, and now they are icons. The "Ultimate Bee Gees" is a must for all the fans and for all music lovers.

BEE GEES Ultimate 4 Star Review
2009-11-30 - As a long time fan of the brothers Gibb, I thouroughly enjoyed adding this to my collection, especially the dvd. It reminds me
that sometimes just listening to their music is one of the simple pleasures in life. Great sounds over so many years, what a gift they have given us...May Barry and Robin carry on successfully, as they have indicated they will.

Beautiful sound 5 Star Review
2009-11-24 - This package has some good thoughts, and for longtime fans the video collection is a real treat.

Especially nice to watch: Spicks and Specks with the great atmosphere from Australia, the rare NYMD 1941, Lonely Days with a different and more rough rock sound then the album/CD-version, For Whom the Bell Tolls (the best ever besides ESP, which unfortunately is missing) and the lively One. There excists different videoversions of the songs How Deep Is You Love and One, which in my opinion is better than the ones shown here.
Besides, the original album version of FWTBT (5 minutes) should have been used for the CD-collection.
Hopefully Barry will rethink his choice of songs for the Mythology set, we don't need all the hits once more.
