10 years later, Dante and Randal are working at a fast-food restaurant and Dante considers leaving the clerk life behind for greener pastures.

Description of Clerks II [HD DVD]:
Lo and behold, Clerks II defies the odds as a sequel that even the most ardent Clerks fans can be happy about. Twelve years after Kevin Smith turned the independent film world upside-down with his $27,000 black-and-white comedy, perpetual slackers Dante (Brian O'Halloran) and Randal (Jeff Anderson) return for another raucous romp in suburbia, but this time there's no beloved Quick Stop mini-mart to ensure their low-level employment. Now they're aimless 33-year-olds flippin' burgers at Mooby's, a fast-food joint with a cow theme that's "udderly delicious." Dante's engaged to his long-time girlfriend but has unexpectedly fallen in love with Mooby's manager Becky (and since she's played by Rosario Dawson, can you blame him?), and Randal's still holding out for life, liberty, and the pursuit of low ambition. The responsibilities of adulthood are rearing their ugly head, and with Jay and Silent Bob (Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith) still dealing weed and generally being obnoxious, well... something's gotta give, right? The way Smith has written this long-awaited follow-up, the dilemmas of Dante, Randal, and their ongoing friendship are something that anyone can relate to, and with Dawson lighting up the screen (in a role demanded by producer Harvey Weinstein to boost box-office appeal), the movie's romantic chemistry is surprisingly delightful. Rest assured, also, that Smith (shooting mostly in color this time, on a $5 million budget) hasn't forgotten where he came from: Clerks II is jam-packed with the same lewd, crude humor that made Clerks an indie-film phenomenon, and Smith's good-natured sincerity is still on full display, ensuring that only the most prudish viewers could possibly be offended. For everyone else, this is as enjoyable as any sequel could ever hope to be, with amusing cameos by Smith-movie veterans Ben Affleck and Jason Lee, among others. --Jeff Shannon

    Clerks II [HD DVD] Reviews:
    Amazing 5 Star Review
2008-08-18 - Well what can I say KS took a great movie an made it better I am in waiting for a part 3 the lives of Dante and Randle are filled with laughs this is one of the best moveis I have seen in any years I have watched it over 20 times I love it

IF YOU WANT A GOOD TIME - AGAIN, GOOD TIME, THIS IS IT! 5 Star Review
2008-08-03 - I saw the trailer to this movie and a brief television review prior to renting it and its predecessor, "Clerks I". I found the term "interspecial erotica" disgusting, yet intriguing. Yeah, the rating is "R" due to alleged "aberrant sexuality" but the movie is so funny that somehow the possibility of crude sexuality didn't scare me away. The movie is hilarious. Now the rest of those clowns in the movie built up an immunity from the first film but I don't see how Rosario Dawson made it through the movie without being admitted to a Level 1 Trauma Center for "Severe Comic Relief, secondary to Uncontrollable Giggling, NOS". I know that I hurt myself just watching it. Was Ben Affleck in the movie? I must have missed him. But that ain't hard to do with a "donkey show" as a co-star and Ben's recent acting credits.

Kevin Smith has a fan in me. I have to close this review with two words" "Donkey Show".....and it is not as graphic as the rating. Be adventurous, use your own judgment, and you will have a great time with this flick!

The original is always the best. but this comes very close. 5 Star Review
2008-06-23 - Clerks has always been one of my all time favorite films, now Clerks II is sitting right up there with it.
This movie is worth having just to find out who Mr. Pillow pants is ?

I dare anyone who hasn't seen this film to guess.
One ring to rule them all.

    I LOVE IT !!

It's the Good Book Sirs. 4 Star Review
2008-06-11 - A long time in the making/waiting, Clerks II finally makes it here.
If you enjoy the New Jersey Kevin Smith series, you'll enjoy the conclusion(?) of the Clerks' story.

Taking place in a Mooby's restaurant (brought to fame in "Dogma") it continues the story of the two clerks from the convenience store, and of course Jay and Silent Bob, this time "new and improved."

Nothing is sacred in this installment as the continued stresses of working in the food industry and daily life is brought to a crude/vulgar light. Several debates rise over the Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, racial slurs, and inter-species erotica.
Without revealing too much, just rely on the story to have your reoccurring themes, interlacing stories, and ground-breaking confrontations that are the norm for the series.

And this movie has it's share of cameos. Whether it's Ben Affleck or Wanda Sykes with Earthquake, be sure to be surprised.

Is the customer always right? Perhaps. But don't "mess" with people that handle your food. And watch out for Pillow Pants.

HDDVD Died but this fill is still HD 5 Star Review
2008-05-12 - While HD DVD has officaly bowed out of the fight, You can still pickup great HD DVD movies for your player. Clerks II has a plethora of great extras and the great High Definition picture enthusiasts have come to love.

Clerks II serves as a great response to the original and the Cast was spectacular with many great cameos!
