Editorial Review:
Title: Sweetheart Of The Silver Screen Artist: Betty Grable

She will forever be the pinup with the million dollar legs, but Betty Grable was also an underrated actress, a fine performer and—as this 14-track collection shows—a very fetching singer in her own right. In fact, when she sings 'Cuddle Up a Little Closer' or 'Put Your Arms Around Me', you’re quite likely to have the urge to do EXACTLY as the song says! Other numbers: 'My Heart Tells Me; Song of the Islands; It’s Only a Paper Moon; You’ll Never Know; Embraceable You; No Love, No Nothin’; I Had the Craziest Dream' with Dick Powell; 'You Do; Changing My Tune; Acapulco; What Did I Do?', and 'I Can’t Begin to Tell You'. A 'Collectors’ Choice Music' exclusive!

Sweetheart of the Silver Screen Reviews:
All of Betty's fans should buy this! 5 Star Review
2005-09-16 - Betty Grable was one of the most popular actresses of the 1940s and unlike many other stars she could really sing! This is a terrific collection of her songs. Many of them are live performances you won't find anywhere else. A couple of highlights are Betty's sweet version of Cuddle Up A Little Closer and a duet with Dick Powell. I play this CD all the time. If you're a fan of Betty you need to get this one!

Betty Grable Sings 13 out of 14 songs!! 5 Star Review
2004-05-29 - Most Betty Grable fans will know that she and Alice Faye were prevented from recording commercially by the conditions in their respective contracts at Twentieth Century Fox Studios. Collector's Choice has compiled and released a collection of Grable vocals mostly taken from radio appearances from the 1940s with "What Did I Do?" seeming to be from an appearance on Bing Crosby's radio show in the early 1950s. There are also several soundtrack items and here is where the compilers make a serious error. Betty Grable did sing "You Do" in the film "Mother Wore Tights" BUT the version here is the track used in the scene in which Mona Freeman sings "You Do". Other than that, this is a very welcome and valuable release. The radio tracks attest to the the fact that Grable sang as well on radio as she did in films and no enhancing of her vocals was ever done. It is a pleasure to listen to her sing songs that she introduced as well as songs introduced by Alice Faye and Ginger Rogers. Grable fans would do well to invest in this one!
