Description of The Beyoncé Experience - Live!:
Though Beyonce Knowles has earned fame as an actress and a spokesmodel, she is first and foremost a singer, as she showcases in the entertaining concert film The Beyonce Experience Live. Polished, effortlessly glamorous, and a strong showman, Knowles is the Diana Ross of the 21st century. The singer-songwriter is equally comfortable belting out a rocking dancing number or crooning a heart-wrenching ballad. Though she shares the stage at times with her boyfriend Jay-Z and her bandmates in Destiny's Child, The Beyonce Experience Live makes it clear that she really is a one-woman act. The packaging on the DVD asks, "Are you ready to be entertained?" The answer better be yes, because Knowles gives it her all. Singing, dancing, joking around, costume changes--it's all there. And Knowles is the type of likable performer who makes viewers feel that even though she may be more talented (and prettier) than the rest of us, she's really just one of the girls. Then, too, you've got to love a gal who celebrates a woman's right to gain a few pounds (aka "jelly") in the infectiously catchy hit "Bootylicious." The film does a good job of including various phases of her musical career, from a defiant rendition (with Destiny's Child) of "Survivor," to a funky duet with Jay-Z on "Upgrade U," to a tongue-in-cheek rendition of "Check on It" (from the soundtrack of Pink Panther). While Jennifer Hudson completely overpowered her in the film adaptation of Dreamgirls, Knowles has a pleasant voice well suited for R&B-tinged pop. She paces her set well and doesn't overextend herself to the point where she has to rely on audio tracks to supplement her vocals. Many tour films fail in capturing the excitement of a live concert experience. The Beyonce Experience Live is about as good as you can get to seeing Knowles live, but without having to buy a ticket. --Jae-Ha Kim
The Beyoncé Experience - Live! Reviews:
Much Too Long
2009-10-13 - No doubt, Miss B put on a heck of a show, but about 60 minutes in, I was done. It seems she tried to sing every hit she ever made and I grew tired of watching and listening to her. I think she should have left out the Destiny's Child material and the DC reunion. She's got boundless energy and visually she is quite stunning. The show was entertaining for the most part and her costumes were very pretty, except the one where she has the jewels on her bottom. I guess the editing was top notch as well, because I never heard her miss a note or lose her breath. There's one song, something about her flaws, that I really liked. I'd never heard that one before. The audience there for the taping experienced a real treat, but watching this 2 hour spectacle proved to be a chore for me. I won't likely watch this again.
the beyonce' experience live
2009-09-22 - watch it!!! the singing and dancing is fantastic. and the outfits she wear is amazing. it is worth every penny of your money. I didn't move until the entire video was over.
Definitely entertained!
2009-09-07 - This was an awesome show from beginning to end. Watching this dvd made me feel as if I we present in front row stage. Costumes were awesome, the dancers were awesome. It was worth every penny. If you are a Beyonce fan. Amazon is the way to go for affordable concert dvds. This same dvd was in best buy for $29.95. I paid a 3rd of the cost.Enjoy!
bad, bad, bad!!!
2009-08-29 - I never recieved my order from them. when i emailed them they did not return my email!
Bland!
2009-08-12 - Bee-Yawn-Cee is for MTV no nothings. She cannot sing nor act her way out of a paper bag.
As for this Dvd, I have to say that it sucked, and I didn't need to watch it to prove how bad it was. Also, to say that Bee-Yawn-Cee Knowles is the Diana Ross of the 21st century is completely stupid beyond belief.
First of all, Bee-Yawn-Cee's songs are complete rip offs of Diana Ross's music.
Second, Bee-Yawn-Cee doesn't have the talent that you people think she does.
Third, this concert has a croud of little girls and boys who never knew anything about music. If you want a concert video, then avoid this, and get anything with Aretha Franklin.
