Walk of Life Reviews:
Energetic and Youthful, yet Confident and Mature
2001-03-14 - Billie Piper's WALK OF LIFE is full of likeable (but not cheap) melodies, well-organised and varied. As another reviewer has suggested, Billie, despite her young age, is not to be brushed off as just another pop princess wannabe. Billie's vocal style is energetic, confident, full of personality. Sure, it's still pop, but it's not Britney-cheap; her music and singing has a forward momentum and strength of spirit not that common for pop singers of her generation. Do not compare this to Britney, Christina or any girl band (together or apart) - Billie is definitely worth more than a month's worth of listening.
Something deep inside....
2001-03-09 - I have to be honest. I didn't care for Billie's first disc, so this one came as a surprise. I happened to hear "Day and nite" and knew i had to hear more. Here in the US we are over run with pop princesses and it takes us a few seconds to tell them apart. Thats what was so shocking about this disc. It was refreshing to hear a disc that didnt all sound the same (Britney) or exaggerated (Christina). It starts off with a bang and leaves you wondering when Virgin records is going to release this disc in the US. Worth the extra bucks. I recommend the Australian version. Its the same as the others, but a few bucks cheaper!
Pop, dance and at times boring
2000-12-01 - The everso catchy "Day and Night" launchs this album, which is mainly pop, like Britney Spears. The album is about love and relationships, with a funky, dance tunes which is happy to listen to. Track to look out for include "Day and Night" and "Something Deep Inside". However, because the album is so pop based and is about the same things, it does get boring which is my only criticism. Overall, good, pop, happy, dance and at times boring.
