It's Oh So Quiet 4 Tracks Reviews: It's oh so quiet 2004-06-25 - "It's Oh So Quiet" has to be my personal favorite Bjork song of all time. I believe it was my first exposure to Bjork back in the late '90s and I saw the colorful video directed by Spike Jonze on MTV. I loved how the big band sound. It was ever so catchy. Before I bought "Post" or any other of Bjork's cds, I bought this particular EP which continued the song as well as two different versions of "Hyper-Ballad", another great Bjork song, and "My Spine". I love "Hyper-Balld". It is my favorite ballad that Bjork has ever done plus I have a friend in a local rock band here in Minneapolis who performs the song as a way to close the show. Between the Brodsky Quartet Version and the Girls Blouse Mix, I think I like the Brodsky Quartet Version slightly more but that is simply a matter of taste. Both versions are great. Not really sure about "My Spine". It is a fairly interesting song to say the very least but another good reason why Bjork isn't for just anyone. She is an acquired taste. Still I like the combination of Bjork's unique vocals and the bells ringing. Very minimalist. If you listen to the song carefully enough, you can hear the resemblence to "Hyper-Ballad". All in all, this is a great EP from Bjork.
My Favourite Bjork EP 2002-11-28 - Bjork's EP singles are known for there awe inspiring non-LP B-sides. This is no exception and may even set a new standard. My copy of this treasure was pressed in Australia and distributed in Denmark. The single It's Oh So Quiet is...fantastic and well known. Worth buying the CD, full stop. What you aren't familiar with is the two version of Hyperballad (the 4:21 Brodsky Quartet version and the 5:06 Girl's Blouse remix) and a spine tingling showcase of Bjork notorious eccentricities called "My Spine".
It's Not Oh so Quiet After All 2001-02-12 - This 4 track import CD single of "Bjork's hit, "It's Oh So Quiet" from her "Post" CD, is not so quiet indeed! Bjork has brought Middle America to the Big Band era all over again. With the use of a well orchestrated horn section she has lived up this track.This CD will have you gettint up out of your seat adn putting your dancing shoes on! This is definitely a CD that will stay in your 3 CD carousel!
